Thanks, JShirley. I think I will end up ordering their 16.5" WWII. I am going to also order one of the old ones at Atlanta Cutlery ones for the collection.
I got this McCurdy some time ago, and I sent it to Northern Knives in Anchorage to have a kydex sheath made for it last July or August. I forgot about it until just recently. When I called them, they still had it for me sitting on a shelf. I went down to Anchorage the other day to buy a Bronco so I stopped in and picked it up. The sheath is great, and I'd forgotten what a monster this thing is. The spine of it is .363 near the handle. I can't wait to go out here somewhere and cut down a couple of spruces with it.
I have a Kukha blade with a "made in India" on it.
Of course mine was carried by my dad while in the army air corp during WW2!
It's more then seventy years old by my best guess.
