I came across Georgia Arms website and they seem to have great prices on ammo, particularly .38 and .44 special that I'm interested in. But, they seem to make all their own bulk ammo and I was wondering if anyone out there had any experience with it that they could share? Thanks.

I used to use it years ago without issue. Would buy it again. Since your brought this up, I'm going to have a look at the 44spl ammo.

Thanks!!!

I've been shooting it for 20+years. Had only one problem. .357 magnum, Federal brass, and a 13 ounce scandium J frame. It was to be the 5th shot, but the cylinder locked up. Not extremely tight, the cylinder would open, it just wouldn't turn. Didn't have that problem with other brass manufacturers, just that thin Fed. case.

I still shoot their products often, I just sort any Federal brass (in magnum loads) and save it for my Model 28-2.

The only other problem I'd ever heard of was from an uncle. He bought ?(can't remember the caliber) for hunting. Aparently this batch had a very light crimp (or the bullet was seated slightly too far out). Sighting in he had no problems. Loaded up to go hunting, didn't fire, unloaded after the hunt. The case came out, leaving the bullet in the throat.

These two happenings were 15-18 years apart. My uncles story was from the early '90s. Mine was from about 2 years ago. Both easy fixes, and both things that could happen with any manufacturer, and at any time.

I continue to buy from them. Their price is hard to beat. Especially when you get it at a show, and there's no shipping.

I've bought their ammo in... .38 Spec., .357 Mag., .357 Sig., 9mm Para., .40S&W, .45ACP, .32-20, .32H&R, .44-40, .45-70, .30 Carbine, .30-06, .300 WinMag, 5.56x45. Maybe even some others. For a total nearing 10,000 rounds.

L frame, have you checked out USA AMMO in texas?

I was just about to buy Georgia Arms .38 sp ammo, but one of the posters recommended USA Ammo, and their standard full metal jacket ammo was actually cheaper than Georgia's "plated" ammo (which I think is just a low budget jacket.) One problem, though...I don't think they do 44 special.

I pick up their stuff at gun shows on occasion, mostly .38/.357. I've had one round that didn't fire the first time (primer had a dent, but no 'bang', fired fine the second time I hit it). Not sure if it was the gun or the cartridge.

I will say that most of the lighter wadcutter-type ammo I've bought from them has been awfully 'dirty' firing. Huge plumes of smoke, kinda embarassing @ the indoor range.....

I've shot a good deal of the 9mm, .45 ACP, and .223. No issues out of about 5k rounds. I too pick up at the gun shows. In fact, that's the only reason I go to the gun show most of the time.

I shoot a lot of their .45 acp in my XD and 1911 and I've never had a problem. It's proved more reliable an accurate than some other "cheap" factory loads (such as Fiocchi). I'm planning to try out some of their .45 "Long" Colt pretty soon. I may take Jim NE's suggestion and try out some USA AMMO .45 acp to see how it compares.

My father and I use them for 223,38,40,45. Have yet to have a FTF, had a few failures to eject but then again, I think that's why you're not suppose to use reloads in Glocks. I've only tried their wadcutters in 38, kicked as much as some of the +P ammo I get off the shelf, accurate enough for paper play.

I've shot quite a bit of their 38spl bulk ammo. It's reliable and consistent. REAL dirty, though. Not a problem for me, as I clean my revolvers after a trip to the range, anyway.

I have bought there ammo from time to time for several years now and have never had a FTF in anything. I now buy a lot of reloading supplies from Ga.Arms.

I currently use their .380, 9mm .38, .357 and .45. Have also used their .308. Good stuff.

I started with their .45 Colt loads - over two thousand of them - up to 11/02 when I started reloading. Never a problem - chrono-ed faster than similar PMC loads. Shot .32, .38, .44, & .45 ACP/AR, too - great ammo - fairly priced. I still buy their .38 Spcl +P 158gr LSWC(HP) - ballistically equivalent to Remington R38S12 - at half or less the cost. The lead is a bit harder - I keep the softer Remi's for snub-noses; GA Arms reloads for >3" barrels and range use.Their .44 Special 200gr Gold Dot - in new Starline brass - is less than the CCI Blazer Al-cased version. I carry it in my 296 and keep speedloaders so loaded for my 696 & 629's for HD. Nice folks, too.

When I had my 1911 I bought two of the .45ACP Canned Heat bulk packs. Both arrived quick, were well packaged, and the rounds themselves funcitoned flawlessly in my pistol. I ended up picking one up in .38 Special as a result. I haven't gotten through that one yet, but it's the same as the .45. I'd do business with them again in a heartbeat.
