A good friend of mine called them today looking for ammo. Even though their website states that they are out of ammo, the lady told him that they had pleantly of ammo and they would sell it directely to him, but he had to make a road trip to buy it.

This sounds very strange to me. Just wondering if she was pulling his leg?

She's probably sick of being asked the question and thus gave him a silly answer. Some of us are starting to do the same. These are from the past week:

Q: Do you have a KSG?
What I wanted to say: Sorry, just sold my last one for $500 (they go for 4-5 times that). It was used and on consignment so I dumped it for less than MSRP.
What I said: No, try GunBroker.

Q: Do you have a PMR-30?
What I wanted to say: Have you ever seen a unicorn?
What I said: No, try GunBroker.

Q: Do you have any cheap AR's in stock?
What I wanted to say: Seriously?
What I said: Not since last year.

Q: Do you have PMags in stock?
What I wanted to say: No, I keep the tupperware in the kitchen.
What I said: No, try GunBroker.

Q: Can you convert the AK I just bought to full auto?
What I wanted to say: Are you really that stupid, or are you an ATF snitch?
What I said: No, unless you're planning on donating it to my business, because while I can convert it, once I do I can't legally return it to you.

Makes sense if he needs it right away since they say their shipping is running behind 2-4 weeks. There are a couple other reman outfits only taking phone orders right now.

They're running 16hrs / dy, 7 days / wk. Talking to a friend the other day, he said he hadn't seen the owner in church for weeks. They do have some ammo, but are struggling to keep up. Kinda like if 50 tour buses pulled up to a Burger King. Yea, they’ve got burgers, just get in line…

I live very close to their store location. Today is range day, but I'll stop by tomorrow and see what the deal is.

They were at our gunshow last weekend, and the ammo was flying out of the boxes. I live for their 45 colt. Cheaper than anyone else, and never had a misfire!.

FWIW, my dealings with them have been great; a few cases of competition ammo over the past year. I don't live near a place where their ammo can be picked up, but they've always been quick and gracious on the phone and had it to my door right away.

A buddy of mine has 3500 rounds ordered through them from Dec 14th. At first he was told it was a 2-3 week wait and now he is being told it will be 3-4 months. It sounds like they are not doing a first-come-first-served service right now. :(

Don't know present owners but at one time their mainstay was range ammo. In a range today that they supply and it was stocked to gills. Folks were driving distances to buy popular calibers. Don't think they would lie. Guess is they don't want to compromise regular customers to make a few short trm dollars on the web. In that position I would want to keep the customer that has been buying 25,000 rounds per month happy than sell out online and have their bread and butter accounts looking for another vendor.

I used to order from them for range ammo pretty frequently as well, back when I lived CONUS and had the luxury of mail ordering ammo. Nice people to deal with from my recollection, though that was going on 5-6 years ago now I guess.
