Getting into the 6mm?

Hard to go wrong with the 6mm/243 bullet diameter for up-to medium (deer) sized game and competitive shooting. More development has gone into drawing uniform bullet jackets in this diameter than any other caliber, except maybe the 30/.308 jacket.

I am a handloader and plan on buying 400-500 pieces of brass at the same time the rifle is ordered so as long as 6mm bullets are available I will be able to support the rifle.

I don’t do so any more, but I folllwed a similar plan for a while whenever I bought new barrels - I’d pick up all of the components for the full barrel life when I bought the barrel.

This photo represents the entire life of a 6mm Creedmoor barrel flashing before its eyes.

That’s enough brass for several barrels.

Yeah, enough brass - but for PRS match management, we need a lot of brass- I load 250 rounds per 2 day match, 150 per 1 day regional match, then had the spare 100 just for practice. Some of the Pro guys I know keep 1000-1200 so they can load 3-4 matches worth at a time, including interstitial practice.
