This might not be the right forum but I'll pose my problem anyway.
I want to get my 4 year old grandson shooting and I thought I could teach him the basics of safety and shooting with an airsoft. My problem is that the only airsofts I can find are all tricked out to look like zombie whackers or something out of Star Wars. I want an airsoft that looks like a bolt action or pump. Does anyone no if such a thing is made?

There are tons of places online to get good looking airsoft guns. Here are some I have used.

airsoftatlanta.com
airsplat.com
shortyusa.com

I myself would approach 22 Cal or bb guns. Reason I say this is too many people associate airsoft with a game and at 4 years old he might have a rough time seperating as he gets older. Not at all telling you how to raise your kids or grandkids though.I know I started my kids shooting way younger then most. And got crape from lots of people. But I also didn't let them do airsort or violent video games until a lot latter then there friends also.

Just don't teach him that it's fun to shoot at Grandpa! Sounds like you're starting him off right. Happy New Year to ya.

I'd use the blanks simply because it means you can start him off with a real gun, and it will also get him more used to the loud noises of firing. It's a better safety tool than an airsoft gun. An airsoft gun can still knock out teeth or put out eyes. A .22 blank won't do this unless he has it literally touching his face.

Went shopping with dad just last night for a nice pink Savage. My 6 yr. old (next week) daughter's fashion sense means she'll lateral the Chipmunk to her 4 yr. old brother but I'm waiting another year to introduce him to shooting. For now they make for great squirrel hunting companions and it has definitely piqued their interest in learning.

I was never allowed to have or shoot airsoft or BB guns as a kid. I managed to once at a friends, just one shot that dropped a pigeon from the barn rafters. Felt so bad about killing something I wasn't going to eat that I never took a second shot. Still don't own one to this day.

Dab102999, I can't agree with you more. That is why I was looking for an airsoft that look like a gun not a computer game. I also wanted to stay away from the battery powered full auto guns because he will start out considering every shot instead of spray and pray.
