Have some rounds that I put too much lube on (my mistake). Causing jamming in handguns.

Can I just tumble the live rounds to get it off? Pretty sure the answer is yes, but my main concern is these are lead bullets - will the media / polishing compound remove lead and cause a problem?

How many rounds? Might be easier to just take a rag with mineral spirits and wipe them down.

I wouldn't tumble. You probably will get fine pieces of media stuck in the lube grooves. If you go too long then you'll have to relube. As mentioned get a rag or towel with some mineral spirits(paint thinner) and wipe them.

Amen to Wiping them with Mineral Spirits. If you tumble, the Lead will become frosted, media will get stuck in Lube Grooves, it will be a bigger mess than you started with.

Don't ask how I know these things... Takes a while to "UnScrew" the mess.

The lead bullets will “lead up” your media. I think my little boy threw a couple bullets into my vibrator and it turned the media grey.

Put them all in a bath towel and move them around.

This is what I do..........Put a few handfuls in a towel or rag and then fold it up around the ammo and massage thoroughly making sure to work them around good. If I'm loading on my single stage I wipe the cases down in this manner a few times between steps.....i.e. after sizing, after priming and one last time after seating the bullets.....it really gets them clean. It does pretty well just doing it once too.....that's all they get if I'm loading on my Dillon.
