Getting SA Champion GI 1911, need sights!

Anyone know where I can get a set of either tritium sights or Novak low mount sights for the SA Champion GI model?

Have you checked out Midway or Brownells? You can find just about anything you'd need for a 1911 from either. I'm not sure what the cut is on those Champions though.

The Champion GI has a GI cut rear sight and a medium tenon front sight that is staked on. In order to get low mount Novaks installed, you will need to have the slide milled.

You might want to try these: although they are not novak low mount or tritium, it's a less expensive option.

10-8 makes a taller GI style sight that retains the classic GI lines, it's just taller with a nicer notch.

Not sure about the front, but I'm sure someone makes a taller Tritum blade.

Yeah you'll need the slide milled for a novak and that will cost as much as half your pistol costs plus a trip to a smith. I'd get a Harrison retro sight (brownells) which will fit your rear dovetail and get any number of front night sites staked on. You'll keep the GI look but upgrade your sites for cheap. Forget the rear night site, practice a bunch and you might be glad you dont have that rear night site, many prefer that configuration now. Also 10-8 makes a good rear site as well for this setup.

I have meprolight tru-dot sights on my GI model (full sized) and am very happy with them.

I had a local smith order and install them...I think it cost a touch over 100 when it was all said and done, and made my shooting MUCH better with my 1911.
