Ghost ring with bead sight?

I've had the chance to use ghost rings on an 870 and and 1187, and I've got some time with just a bead sighted shotgun. I liked both, but find that my accuracy with the bead sights is less than what I'd like, but the ghost ring ramp front sight (a Scattergun tech) was a bit large. Are there any ghost ring sights that use something like a bead as the front sight? Does Ashley Express make one of these, as it seems to fall in line with what they do?

Nope. Here's the deal...

Sights are not quite parallel to the bore. A bead would not be the right height to work with the peep(GR)rear unless it was mounted on a base of correct height. For that much work, the bladed bead we all use is better for a crisper sight pic.

The front sight on my HD 870 is made over from a rifle set, with the base milled to fit the bigger barrel. It has a removable hood and a bit of yellow enamel to highlight the bead. Quite easy to see.

Most smiths could do this w/o much effort or cost.

Thanks, guys. By bead sight, I'd meant a bead on a post, but that wasn't clear. Mainly, I wanted a sight with the advantages of the aperture but without the large front sight I'd dealt with. I may just stick with the standard ghost rings, learn to use them properly and then go from there.

I shoot just plain bead, no rear sight. And for 99% of what I do with a shot gun it is wonderfull. I have become very good with it.

However it just plain sucks for slugs.

I mostly use my shotgun for 3 gun, and I'm very fast with just the bead, but I have to aim below the belt line of an IDPA target at 100 yards to hit it COM.

I have been thinking (always dangerous) about going to a rifle sight in front with a flip down rear sight. Maybe get a barrel with a vent rib, install a rifle sight in front that I would just point like a bead, and then mount something like a Ruger 10-22 peep sight (which can be flipped down when not shooting slugs) on the rear of the rib.

Anybody ever try anything like that?
