Giant Rabbit terrorizes farmers in English village. Monster sized rabbit eats villager’s prized vegetable gardens.

Mr Smith said: "It is a massive thing. It is a monster. The first time I saw it, I said what the hell is that.
"The prints were far bigger than a hare, they were like a deer. It is a brute of a thing.
"We have got two lads here trying to shoot it but they never see it."
"They call it the monster. It's very big -- it's nearly the size of a dog," said Joan Smith, whose son Jeff owns one of the plots under attack.
"It's eating everything, all the vegetables," she told Reuters. "They are trying to shoot it. They go along hoping to catch it but I think it's too crafty."

It sounds like something out of the Wallace and Gromit in The Curse of the Were-Rabbit.

This is what happens when guns are banned.

They hired two guys with AIR GUNS to guard to vegetable gardens.

What would you use If you had to hunt this monster rabbit down?
Myself it would be something in a Mossberg 500 12guage pump with a SureFire on the forend loaded with 000 buckshot. What about you?

I hope its not the same rabbit from "Monty Python's Search for the Holy Grail." If it is those poor vegitable farmers will be losing a lot more than the veggies. "What's it gonna do? Nibble me bum?" (Said with an English accent of course.) Sorry I guess you had to see the movie. :D Get your 10/22 to take care of it. Too bad about the gun laws in England.

If not guns then an electrified train track and flamethrowers. Night of the Lepus Could be worse. What if they were giant killer zombie bunnies?

Seriously. There are some big breeds of rabbits. I'm not sure a varmit caliber would be enough. Thinking shotgun with slugs.

Armilite AR-180 w/3 xtra drums. Or anything in a belt fed, pistol caliber, air cooled full auto.

OOPS forgot that it was in the UK. Small dull knife attached to a cricket bat.:D

Poor defenseless folk. Next thing you know, they'll be calling for gun owners in the US to donate hunting rifles to protect themselves.

I can see the wan, pale refugees now:"It was horrible, no veggies anywhere!"

The UK abandoned to the fascist horde of giant bunnies. Churchill is writhing in his grave.

From the article
Leeks, Japanese onions, parsnips and spring carrots have all been ripped up and devoured by the mystery were-rabbit -- prompting the 12 allotment holders in Felton, north of Newcastle, to hire two marksmen with air rifles and orders to shoot to kill.
What has happened to the British people, the mighty who once when eyeball to eyeball with Hitler and refused to blink. What would Churchill say. or would he say anything at all because he was crying. Very sad incident.

Hey - as long as you could convince the police that it was a necessary calibre for Giant Rabbits, then this would be perfectly legal in the UK (just as long as you weren't using SLAP or eplosive rounds or the like).
