Giving a shout out to the "Ultimate Bed Holster"

Bought one of these the other day at a gun show - kinda new company. The product shoves between the mattress and box springs, then has super-duty velcro straps configurable in any number of different ways (see pics on website there). Got it with a CZ SP01 and a Black Bear flashlight on my bed right now - pretty slick, though very simple.

I don't like it at all. securing your weapon with a velcro strap? I know velcro can be bomber stuff, but I want my firearm in a real holster that actually secures the weapon and completely, unfailingly covers the trigger guard.

Well, yes, but you can secure your entire holster with the velcro, then then gun in the holster, if you like.

Looks like a good idea. A lot of folks, me included, just have the gun on a night stand. Unless there is an earthquake, or a tornado, I have not had to worry about how secure the gun is, or the trigger being covered.
Being at the side of the bed, might make it less easy to see, if someone were to come into the bedroom unexpected.

I like the idea, but not that implementation of it (and definitely not that website design). I just put the flap of my Safepacker between my mattress and box spring. It keeps my P-01 off the nightstand but still within reach, and is useful in other capacities as well.

I came in here to post exactly this.

Now that I have a bed that doesn't have a box spring, I still use a Safepacker; I've attached a strap to it and it hangs from the bedpost. That way it is easily accessible when I am in bed, and if need be I can grab it and carry it with me by putting the strap over my shoulder.

I took advice from this website ages ago and got a magnet from an old hard drive (very strong and has holes for screws), and screwed it to the bottom of the bedframe. Holds the gun securely within reach of my hand. It's so invisible, the wife has made the bed numerous times when I've forgotten to remove it and she never notices it.

Those gun holsters look pretty dangerous for my situation. I have little ones, a 9 and 2 year old and one on the way. Those of you with young children what do you use

I love my Safepacker.

Nightstand, to seat of the truck, to on my desk at work, to the store....Aside from a belt/holster, it's the easiest thing ever invented for hauling a full-size pistol around without screaming gun. Way more invisible than a fanny pack, and you don't look like a dork carrying it around.

+1 on the Safepacker. I have a coyote-colored one for my M&P and I just carry it around with me all the time.

i like my pillow. nobody coming into the room would ever know it was there. it is free. only downside would be if it went off. i would loose the hearing in that ear. but i keep the safety on, and i dont mess with it. it has been 3 years, no mishaps so far (knock on wood) (i keep the muzzle pointed at the headboard, and an outside wall). hopefully, there never will be. besides, in my house, the kids sometimes get up in the middle of the night and come into our room. if they could find the gun, like that thing would let them. bad things could happen. if it is under my pillow, nobody is going to get it without me knowing about it.

This is without a doubt an interesting concept and might be a good idea for some. But if you have little kids in the house, it's a non-starter. Anyone who has had a small child show up at the side of the bed in the middle of the night -- and everyone who has had children will have experienced exactly that -- will understand why.

I am cheap, and this can't be seen by anyone walking in, plus is easily accessed by me.
