Hi List

I have waited now for 4 month, I ordered a Springfield Long Loaded, they promise to deliver in April, but still no gun !!!!!

I have decided to drop Springfield and go with something else, I am open for good suggestions, I would like a semi-auto with a 6” barrel but I don’t find many options available around a $ 1000

I am thinking about buying a Para-Ordnance high capacity single action, but I never had one in my hand, any pro/cons I need to know about ??

The people I talk to at the gun store, say they only heard good thinks about these guns, so I think I will give it a try.

Thanks

Wow, switching from SA to Para... Not a phrase heard very often...

Don't hear that one....there are many fans of PO & SA but usually its a move from Springer to Para not the other way around. Still, if your happy & your gun works, it's all good

I've got a Para P-14 limited model - 45acp [used] F/S. Excellent overall condition, Novack nite sites, 5 mags - 3 hi-cap - 2 10 rounders.

Slide has some holster wear - was my duty gun - if intrested - e mail me i'm here in Iowa also.

12-34hom.

Para hicap mags cost a lot. My Para was nothing but trouble. I sold and now only buy Colt or springfield. Just get a regular old 5" Colt or Springer 5" is proven design and works fine.

Thanks

Well it sounds like the best thing to do is to give SA another change, before I change my mind.

Thanks again

Before you give up on Springfield Inc. entirly look into the Brazilian made high capacity 1911 they are, or were, offering.
Very well made and it will take Para Ord. magazines.

I bought a well used Para P14 a while back. It is a great gun and shoots more accurately for me than my SA .45s. It recently failed to extract a couple times so I am considering overhauling the springs and such, but I still like it. The thing I dislike is that the mag springs seem to be inconsistent. I need to get some aftermarket springs, but haven't yet. Of course, the SA pistols I have are not the super duper $1000 models. I was pretty cheap when I bought most of my pistols. :)

I have 2 PO SA's: a P-14 .45 and a P-16 .40. Both are exactly 100% reliable, very accurate and are, I feel, great guns. The .40 has been hard chromed and the other one is still blue.

Good luck with your choice. Get one you will enjoy shooting a lot.
