After my previous post asking about Kel-Tecs, I've been talking to many people and visiting a couple of gunshops. The P-11 experience convinced me that I needed a bigger grip or less caliber in a small package.
I decided what I really wanted was my old Glock 26 with room for my pinky to help shootability. Well, loh and behold, both of my favorite shops had Glock 19s. This was the first Glock model I had ever tried, and it isn't much bigger than the 26 and has room for all three fingers. Talking to my coworker, who is retired NYPD sealed the deal.
This coming week I will be trading off my Glock 17 for a Glock 19 in all likelihood. Ordinarily I'm all for "keep them both," but with certain events coming up it is more practical for me to keep the collection to its current level. And with this move, I feel I get a pistol that I can shoot well at the range, compete in fun matches with, use for a night-stand gun AND CCW with more easily and frequently than my current choice.
If you read this far, thanks for listening. There will probably be a range report or two in the coming weeks.
