I have a Glock 17 with the new Streamlight TLR 10 flex. I am having problems trying to find a holster that works with the 10 as it’s a new released light/Laser. I was wondering if anyone has found one for your firearm or if the TLR 9 holsters would fit. I’m looking for OWB carry as I don’t have my CCW permit yet. Thank you for everything!

If you went with a kydex holster, it would be fairly easy to modify a TLR9 holster to fit the 10. If it was even needed, it all depends on how the holster was made with enough extra room.

I absolutely love helping folks find a holster, but dang, a TLR10?

You have a Glock 17, you could have picked a TLR7/8, or Surefire X300 and had hundreds of options. I'm sure you will eventually have a bunch of options, but it won't be soon.

Find a local kydex holster maker and have a custom holster made. There are a lot of them around. If you can’t find one, ask around at local ranges or gun shops. There are a lot of guys who make holsters.

... so why not go with the 10 flex?
Because there aren't any holsters available, at least yet.

all others were 500 so why not go with the 10?
The lumens race is something I often scratch my head about. I spent an awful lot of years being really impressed with a two "D" cell MagLite. When the 60 lumen Surefire's hit the market, I was stunned by how bright those things were. I don't know what I'd use a 1000 lumen light for, unless the stadium lights go out at the football game next Friday night, or the airfield lights go out with a plane on final approach. ;)

I often share this from Tom Givens regarding night sights, but it is equally appropriate for mounted lights on non-LE/non-MIL carry guns...

...in the 60 plus defensive shootings his students have been involved in, the lighting (or lack of lighting) was a factor in the outcome in exactly ZERO cases.

and from Tucker Gun Leather https://tuckergunleather.com/faq/

Q. Does Tucker recommend carrying a defensive pistol with a light attached to an accessory rail?

A. Tucker says, "If you're on a SWAT team, go for it. If not, your pistol is a quick-response tool for a sudden and extreme self-defense situation. If you have a light on the gun, you may find it distracting enough to slow down your response."

Hey, I'm just giving you a little grief about your light choice. I tend to do the same to folks that buy some odd-ball gun and then can't find a holster for it. I like trying to help them, but you can really limit your options, by your up-front choices.

If you plan on holstering the gun, the suggestion I often make is find a holster you like first, JM Custom Kydex https://www.jmcustomkydex.com/c/Light-Bearing-Holster.html or Dale Fricke https://dalefrickeholsters.com/product/gideon-elite-holster/ or RCS Gear https://rcsgear.com/perun-lc-holster or something else, and figure out what lights they make holsters for, then pick that light. It makes the whole process so much easier.

Those companies may actually offer holsters for your gun/light combo, but may not have updated their website's yet. With all the new models of guns and lights released, it's got to be a real chore keeping their sites up to date.

You might give T. REX Arms a look for holsters that support WML's. From what I can tell, they go out of their way to offer alot of pistol/light holsters and get pretty good feedback. If you watch their YouTube videos holsters are where they got started.

Holsters are a very tough thing to recommend, it's very tough to find one that fits well, I started to wonder if I'd ever find one that fit well and found De Santis to be the best fit for a standard production (non custom) holster for a few of my guns (glocks, ruger, etc...)

Finding a holster to fit your gun is pretty easy, finding one that fits you is quite another thing....
