I'm going to be buying a gun within a week. I've narrowed it down to these two above. The Glock is a very safe choice as I already own 2 Glock 19's and they are my frontline defensive pistols. I know what to expect from it and it would replace my non-ccw Glock 19 so that it (my first gun) can retire to the safe for posterity/reserve.

Every time I've handled the CZ compacts, I've been impressed. I don't like da/sa triggers, so it seems my only option in a CZ compact would would be the one in the title. I would assume that you can use this pistol cocked and locked as well as da/sa. Maybe a CZ buff has the low down on that...if I am incorrect then the CZ is off the board. Does anyone know if the CZ is available with fullcaps yet? I know the Glock is. The CZ would be used as a reserve gun.

Please let me have some first hand experience tales on the CZ. I'm going to get the Glock eventually anyway, so I suppose this thread is more about which one to purchase first. The cost difference is not an issue.

Glock 17 is a fullsized gun, CZ 75B Compact is, well, compact. If you're willing to go fullsized, and you don't want DA/SA, you might look into the CZ 75 SA, or single action. That one is definitely a cocked and locked pistol. The other CZ's with safeties can be carried cocked and locked as well (or not).

The CZ 75's are terrific guns, especially for the price. Rugged, reliable, accurate, great ergonomics, etc. CZ lovers are legion. It'll be a little different than the Glock, however, so if you want to K.I.S.S., get the Glock 17.

Dunno if the CZ's come with standard caps yet, but I'm in Kali, so how would I know, eh? If it were me, I'd go with the CZ just for variety's sake.

CZ. The steel frame Compact is an excellent pistol. Full cap mags are available from both CZ-USA, (not listed, but there), for $37, or J&G Sales in Prescott for $34.95 - 14 rounds. Yes, the standard CZ75 model, both Compact and full size, can be carried coked and locked, one of the reasons even Col Cooper likes it. Custom leather and grips are available, czech out links at czforum.com . ALso, don't forget to look for the new CZ75 Compact 40 coming out this month, supposedly in both decocker and standard models.

Aquapong,
I don't like DA/SA pistols either, so I purchased a full-size 9mm CZ75 that is double action only. Arizonagunrunners shipped me two Mec-Gar 16-rd. magazines for $46.

CZ 75B Compact

I would get the CZ 75B Compact first.

I have two of them. One polycoated and the other satin nickel. Both are excellent pistols. I have never had a single jam of any kind with either Compact.

Best regards.

I had a CZ-75B compact for a while. It was a very nice pistol. Cocked and locked was definitely a big plus, nice single action trigger pull. Accuracy was very good. Had to thin out the collection, though, and off it went.

First thing I did was remove that mag brake. An unnecessary part. ;)
