Glock 19 Conceal Carry

I am trying to find a good way for myself to carry a Glock 19 concealed. I live in South Texas so I wear t-shirts and jeans most of the time. Also I am female so the guys at the gun stores tend to patronize me by telling me I don't need to carry just find a guy to do it for me. So they tend to be no help at all. Thanks in advance for any ideas.

just find a guy to do it for you? Nobody would tell you that on this forum. They might tell you to find a guy to tote your back up gun.

I too have a Glock 19 and it is hard to carry here in Texas. A high ride holster under a hawaiian style shirt and it still "prints".

If course many will tell you that they can conceal a Desert Eagle while wearing a thong and doing jazzersise on the hood of a moving vehicle. I can't.

IWB holsters, I suspect, were designed by inquisitors and small-or-the-back are fine if you stand all day.

Basically you have to either dress in very loose fitting clothes, go down a size with your gun (my solution) or get a good concealed carry bag.

Sorry I don't have a good solution. If you come up w one let me know.

Used to carry my G19 in Sparks IWB, with an untucked T shirt. Had to wear a wife beater under the T, but still not too hot. This is in MI, may be too hot in Texas A good gun belt, and holster is a must

Have you thought about getting a pistol that you can conceal easier? You don't need to get rid of your 19 but having a couple different choices is never a bad thing.

I have four different rigs that I carry depending on how I have to dress. Maybe this is an option for you maybe not?

Yeah I have thought about getting a different carry gun. The problem is that I am a college student and all of my money is going towards tuition.

yea it's harder for girls. i'm trying to fit my sister (college student too) with a concealed carry piece and i'm at my witts end. purse carry is too slow and anything bigger than an ipod prints like crazy. i htink you'll have to go with a different gun...

Not being a woman, I feel unqualified to offer this kind of advice. Perhaps something at the Cornered Cat website might help.

G19's are pretty good carry guns. To get much smaller your going to have to sacrifice something.

I'd have to trade the G19 for a Keltec PM9 or better yet a Walther PPS. Both are slimmer. Then use a Milt Sparks VM2 or an Alessi iwb holster. Wear 2 t-shirts. I love the G19 but woman can be hard to get a good fit.


Purse carry is slower, but I'm sure theres ways to speed it up. Just remember to keep that trigger covered. Maybe a kydex holster installed into a larger purse. Its a lot better than nothing. Anywhere you need the speed say a parking garage, noones around to notice that your hand is in your purse while walking anyway. Anywhere real busy and you'd probally have extra time to get to it if needed. You only need that extra speed where your alone and going to get jumped, so if your hand is in your purse on your Glock noones there to see anyway.

I'd probally purse carry with a kydex holster mounted into the purse to keep the pistol secure and that Glock trigger covered until you can afford to get a smaller gun like the PPS and a high end holster.

good on you for taking your safety and personal defense into your own hands. more women need to do that and stop expecting a man to do it for em. the guy will not be with you 100% of the time but that glock sure can.

there are many great options out there for ccw. i am not a female but i know and have seen many train that are die hard about training and ccw. look into crossbreed holsters, raven concealment, blade tech, comp tac mtac, these are all great options, and i am sure that at least one of them will fit the bill perfectly.iwb would be the best option for you imho. its the way i ccw for sure.

I use a Ross "tuckable" IWB for my G22, wearing a loose golf/polo style shirt tucked in even with blue jean shorts it stays covered and only prints if I bend over arse up. You learn to squat or kneel to pick things up off the ground.
