I've had no problems shooting cast bullets in a Glock barrel.
Use a large enough bullet. Clean well, frequently.
You won't likely have a problem with the coated bullets.
Accuracy is so poor, I can't recommend most fmj's.
Most of the lead bullet problems came from swaged lead bullets heavily leading the throats and causing the early glocks to fire out of battery. A coworker had a G22 come apart shooting some swaged lead bulleted Master Cartridge Co. .40circa 1998. Led my agency to quit using reloaded ammo for training/qualification. But, he had shot over 200rds thru it during training/qualification without being given opportunity to strip/clean the firearm.
Most of the offending ammo is long gone from the market.
I'd recommend many of the plated bullets over the FMJ's. Th only FMJ's I've had good luck from are Hornady, Sierra, and for same prices, you can shoot good JHP's.
An undersized overly hard cast or soft swaged lead won't work well. Never had a problem with .357" cast slugs in a 9mm, or .401" in .40.
But then I do clean my barrels frequently. Not once a year, or when they start failing to feed or chamber like some I've known..
