Hello all. I purchased a new Glock 19 (prefix DTU) around the fall of 2000. It's a third generation, 2 pin frame, which came with factory meprolight night sights (front sight is press fit). I've upgraded to an LCI extractor (replaced the load bearing, spring, plunger, as well). Any other upgrades that I should consider? Also, whenever the meps eventually give up the ghost, do I have to use another press fit type front sight or can I simply switch to a front sight that uses a screw? The reason I ask is that I've noticed a recessed circular area on the under side of the slide on my G17 and G34 (seems to give the head of the front sight screw a little clearance so, I assume, the screw head doesn't come into contact with the barrel). My G19 doesn't have such a recessed area. Therefore, I didn't know if using a screw to hold the front sight was acceptable. Thanks for any help you all can provide.
