I'm thinking of upgrading from my Glock 19 to either a 17 or 34 for IDPA. What manufacturers do you all recommend for a good set of Glock replacement sights. I've tried (and like) Meprolight due to their strong white outline around the tritium inserts. Just looking around to see if there might be something better out there. I want something practical that will give fast target acquisition, but I don't want a neon tube for a front sight, either. I would prefer tritium, but that's not an absolute requirement. Any suggestions? Finally, with regard to removing/installing sights on a Glock, I'm thinking of buying a Glock rear sight installation tool. Any specific tool needed for removing/replacing the front sight? Thanks.

I like Dawson and Heinie.
There's a new metal sights (Yost-Bonitz) that Dillon carries. It looks good to me, although I haven't seen them in person yet.
As for removing the rear sight, I just use a nylon tipped punch. I bought the front sight remover/installer from Brownell's.

I like Dawson and Heinie.

+1 on the Heinies.

I prefer the standard, black (non outlined) sights for my shooting needs.

The Yost-Bonitz look very promising. I just checked their website a few minutes ago and they seem very Heinie-ish in regard to sight picture.

I would stick with the Meprolights, I have those on two Glocks my 17 and 22. I bought a set of Trijicons for my Glock 36 and I don't like them as much. They are dimmer at night and harder to see in the daytime than my Meprolights.

Big fan of Heinie sights.
The rear notch is deeper and both the front and rear are serrated. Great sight picture. Another nice feature is they can be touched up with a blueing touch up pen. Other brands cannot and end up shiny right where you want them to be jet black.
