Glock 19. (which package?)

This is not the classic which is better g3 vs g4. It's a which situation would you do (don't factor in ammo. That's set) all prices are okay. Just not sure if some are worth it.

1) g19 g3-new
Glock night sight
2 mags.
=$630

Or

2) g19 g4-new
Glock night sight
3 mags
=$675

Or

3)g19 g4-new
Glock stock sight
3 mags
=$575

Or

4) g19 g3-new
Glock stock sight
2 mags
=$530

I'm thinking about the 1st option. Is 2nd worth the $? I don't hate the stock sight but I def prefer the 3 dot night sight. They want $100 for the night sight but I'm wondering if it's cheaper to order online then get someone to instal them. Unless it's relatively easy?

Thoughts?

unless you are a lefty or do not like the standard grip of the glock and think the extra palm swells can help, I would take the g3 with night sights for a lower price. With the price difference you could buy the extra mag and still have some left over.

so in short, show me whats behind door number 1.

Unless there are some restrictions in your state, I'd go with the first option, but shop online for a better price and go from there. $630 for a Glock 19 with night sights seems a little steep. I picked my last one up locally here for $545, night sights were Glock factory. Also keep in mind some Gen4 19's were having malfunction issues.

Join the GSSF for $35 and get a Gen 4 for $425 at your local LE dealer. IIRC you can add night sights for $25 or so.

before you pay $630 check out sites like Buds Gun Shop

i just bought a G17/G3 with standard sights for $494 delivered, including two mags. leaves room for nite sites if you have to have them. gives you time to make up your mind. how often do you shoot at night? i'd use the money on a 3.5lb connector and a steel captured guide rod. might as well get all the springs with the connector. have fun, son.

I've checked out buds. I think they've been out of g19?? I may be wrong. But depending on the price difference, if it's not too bad, I'd rather support a local shop and build a relationship as this won't be my last purchase

Hey no fair the options were changed after I chose! I feel very hurt and vulnerable at this time. I can't believe a fellow high roader would deceive me in such manner.

now that I got all the drama out, I retract my statement for option 1 and now am in full support of option 4, again sticking to the gen 3 unless you need the ambi mag release or backstraps.

also buds does have them in stock for $499 shipped.

The G19 has not had quite as many problems as the G17. A couple of my buddies have them and I like the feel of the Gen. 4 better. But I know the Gen. 3's a proven performer. So when I was trying to decide I went with the
tried and true Gen. 3 G19. No problems, tons of aftermarket parts (not many for the Gen. 4's right now), and a better trigger. Lay down your money and take your chances.
