All - I've got an opportunity to purchase a used Glock 21 with 2 x 13rnd magazines for $400. What do you think - is it a good price? The gun was previously used by a pistol marksmanship team. Anything I should look for?

Evan - thanks - I'm not sure what generation it is - I'll get to see it tomorrow. Anything I should look for?

It's pretty hard to hurt a Glock.. but it's been done. It's not bad. I just got a G21sf with 2-13rds and less than 300rds down bore for $475. If it's a Gen 3 with the finger grooves and light rail I say go for it.. if it's the older (non-finger groove) I say pass. But it's whatever feels good in your hands.

Two things I would look at are the are the rails on the frame (front) and make sure there isn't cracks around them or in the frame in general. The plastic is not perfect there but should not have visible cracks. Second check the barrel and make sure it looks in good shape, inside and out..

Good luck.. I love the G21.

I got a generation 3 with 3 mags (2 with the 4rd extenders which are $40 for just the extender :what:) for $500. $400 for a 21 with 3 mags is a pretty good deal.

Even Glocks can wear out, but it takes a lot of rounds. You might consider replacing the springs in the gun and the mags. Or not!

What kind of marksmanship team uses Glock 21s?

Normally I would say to jump on it at that price but if it were used by a pistol team it has probably been shot a lot more than average. I would have to see it and probably have it examined by a good gunsmith. It could be a bargain, or a money pit.
