I was fortunate enough to run across this old workhorse at my local pawn shop/bank account drainer. It's one of the police trade-in Glocks I've read about so much, a generic Glock 22 gen3 in .40 S&W. With a price tag of $374 I only hesitated long enough to reach for my phone and get wifely authorization.

It came in the standard Glock box with a faded blue label on the side. Inside the box was my new old Glock, paperwork, and two mags showing light to moderate scarring.

The gun itself was in great condition other than some holster wear near the muzzle and a little gouge on the slide cover plate. Bore was in brand new condition and generally it had very little wear internally.

It came with factory installed Trijicon night sights, faded from age but plenty usable.

I didn't know how good the springs were in this gun; they didn't feel weak but just for cheap insurance I replaced the recoil spring with Glock factory and the mag springs with Wolff xtra power.

I brought along 16 rounds of 180gr Winchester JHP, 50 rounds of Federal aluminum case 180gr FMJ and 50 rds of Blazer Brass 165gr FMJ and tested this old cop gun at the range, where it shot quite adequately in my unskilled hands. No malfunctions.

That was last weekend. Today I shot another fifty rounds of Fed aluminum, also without a problem.

Overall, quite happy with this purchase. I trust this boring but effective pistol very much and right now it's on duty as my carry gun and main HD pistol.

For more detail and shooting footage of the gun, see my video here:
