A friend is selling a Glock 23 w/ 2 13rnd mags for $450. It's in good condition with some minimal holster wear on the slide. Is this a good price?

That's typical price around me provided it's a 3rd gen with night sights.

Who makes good aftermarket parts for it? i.e. slides, I also heard there was a conversion to other calibers?

You can pick up a like new off GlockTalk usually for around $400. I got mine w/ trijicons for $385 shipped.

Parts are very very easy to find and it's easy to rig up with aftermarket stuff--esp the 3rd gens with the rail. You can convert a 3rd gen to .357 Sig I believe but check with a GLOCK armorer to make sure you're doing it right.

I believe with night sights that'd be a fair price.

I picked up a G23 lightly used with night sights for $400 without magazines. With mags came out to $425 total.

Bargain or look elsewhere if you can stand not to have that G23 a few days longer. They're great pistols.

I like tupperware too

i got a gen 2 with night sights w/ holster and ny compliant mag and a pair of slip on grips in upstate ny for 450 after transfer. so for my neck of the woods for just a pistol that'd be a pretty solid deal.

See, here's the deal IMO. I don't really like buying stuff from friends. Sometimes you feel rip'd off, sometime they might. Sometimes things go wrong & it's tough to assign blame.
That said...that's a fair price for a gun that is really tough to break and tough to make malf. It's not a screamin' deal, but a fair one ;)

That is $40 less than I paid for a new GLOCK. I would say that it is on the high side for a used pistol.

I think it is too much unless it is like new condition with night sights. If you are going buy a used gun, you could probably get a LE trade-in for less.
