Glock 26 frame wear normal?

I recently bought a Glock 26 and today I noticed some wear on the polymer frame where the rearward lip of the guide rod is. The Glock has that weird 2 step lip on the bottom of the barrel for the guide rod to brace against and maybe this is normal but is scraping on the frame from it normal? My G23 doesn't do it and I don't recall my G19 doing it but they had a different guide rod (one piece instead of the G26's two piece).
If it's normal wear and will stop once it's broken in that's fine, just wondering if it's a problem. The gun has probably about 200rds through it.
The wear area is circled in red. Sorry for the blurry pic, my free camera doesn't have a macro feature.

Does it have a stock recoil spring assembly installed?

If so, I wouldn't worry much. That part of the frame can take a lot of scraping.

Keep an eye on it, and if it gets noticeably worse, you might want Glock to take a look.

If you can get some better pics, you might email them to Glock. See if putting the gun on the scanner will work--I've gotten some surprisingly good pics that way. ;)

Sorry about the blurry pics. I'll try to get some new ones with another camera tomorrow that has a macro feature for taking up-close pics. That triangular area in the circle is usually flat and smooth but the guide rod seems to be riding it like a cowboy, causing it to get scraped up. The scrapes aren't really deep but it worries me since this gun might take over as my carry piece if it can prove it's worthy.
I'm mainly wondering if any other guys with G26's have this happen. Is it normal or is it a problem?
JohnKSa- Yes it's the stock recoil spring/guide rod assembly. Thanks for the tip. I'll try the scanner trick tomorrow at work. Hopefully my boss won't have a heart attack

I have a 27 with both a 40 and 357 sig barrel for it with about 400 rounds of 40 and 2K of 357 sig. I just pulled it apart and looked and there doesn't appear to be any wear in that area... but aside from the extra barrel (storm lake) mine is completely stock with the original springs. it could be from the spring guide or possible a smal pointed burr on the spring itself...

A new spring and guid may be worth a try to see if it keeps scraping it.

Hmm. I guess I could try a new recoil assembly, they aren't too spendy and it would be nice to have a spare.

I've had several Glocks over the years - including a G26 I had for 8 years. I have never seen that kind of wear before.

Your G26 is just fine. There was a thread recently over on Glock Talk discussing the same thing. Seems like the majority of people have similar wear iwith their guns. A few have no such wear, but they seem to be in the minority. I have exactly the same wear in my G26 with about 1000 rounds. It showed up early in this total, and hasn't changed. People speculate about the cause, and some even claim that you should send the gun in for repairs. That said, it is nothing more than cosmetic wear and nothing to worry about. The point is, what you are seeing is not unusual, and nothing to worry about.

I put the frame on the scanner today and they came out a little better. I guess it's a hit or miss normal thing, I just don't like the idea of scrapes/gouges on a carry gun's internals from cycling!

Well, not much we can say now. It's been clarified as being normal but you don't like your carry peice having a non-perfect spot on it's frame from regular, non-damaging use.

The only answer I can think of is for you to go buy yourself another gun for CCW, DoubleTapDrew...
Mark(psycho)Phipps( HAHAHA! )

Some Glock 26/27/33 frames have that wear and others don't. Enjoy your G26. There's nothing wrong with it.

That looks normal to me.
If you want, I'll dispose it properly for free. I'll even pay for shipping it to my ffl.

Actually I mostly wanted to see how the pics would turn out online with JohnKSa's scanner idea
It's not a big deal and I'll put a few hundred more rounds through it this weekend. This is my 3rd Glock but my first subcompact so I was just curious. It won't replace my XD as a carry gun just yet but I kind of like it for pocket carry aside from the thickness.
I got it for $400 with about 30 rounds through it :D Kinda dropped in my lap and I couldn't pass it up.

Works pretty well for closeups!

Here's a picture of one of my Glocks done with a scanner and a freeware photo editor.
