Good morning all. Been quite a while since I've posted but figured I'd break radio silence . Years ago I picked up a Glock 26 because I had given in to all the hype of the fan boys. Low and behold I found out I did not like the plasticy feel of the trigger. Kinda related it to firing a staple gun. So I ended up selling it. Fast forward 5 years or so and I got a trade offer for a Glock 27 for my Shield. I figured what the hey, I'll give the Glock another go and if all else fails it sells for more than the Shield if it comes to that. Let me say I can now see why there are so many fan boys. The Glock actually feels and fits my hand very well. I like the low bore axis and actually don't mind the trigger anymore. It's light, consistent, and quick easy reset. I've only shot it once so far but I think I'm going to be very happy with it. I got it with the flush 9 rnd mag and a 15 rnd mag with Xgrip extension. Love that I can easily conceal this baby with the 9 rnd and even the 15 is still fairly concealable. Love the versatility of dual duty of EDC and HD with extended capacity mags. The fact that accessories are cheap and readily available is a huge plus. All in all I am very happy with my 27 and think I may soon be added to the fanboy club. Don't get me wrong, I still like a good DA/SA gun and rotate my carry but I now understand the infatuation.

Truly look at after market triggers as they make it a GREAT DEAL more fun and easier to shoot.

And a few added pounds to the recoil springs will make it feel like shooting a 9mm.

I am a fan of the finger +2 magazine extension.

I actually just bought the +2 may extension the other day. Just need to figure out how to switch it out

I just recently got back to the forum and picked up a 27 in trade for an M&P9c. I'm really liking the .40 and have a G22 to go with it. Mine came with Glocks +1 extension on the mags so I get 10 rounds but still very easy to carry and conceal as well as shoot...congrats on the new pistola.

Yeah I really like the options you have with the 27. Can drop a 357 barrel or 9mm in. Actually in the trade I got an extra 9mm mag for some reason. I texted the guy I traded with in case he put it in by accident but he never responded. I guess that means I definitely need to grab a 9mm barrel

Glad you are liking your G27. It's a good gun if it fits you.

I got a smoking deal on a Gen 4 Glock 27 a couple of years ago, even though I really wanted a 26. I immediately bought a Lone Wolf 9mm conversion barrel and some 9mm mags for it, and now I mainly use it in 9mm mode. And I'm in the whole thing, including the 9mm barrel, for much less than a G26 would have cost.

IMO, the Glock 27 is the best .40 that Glock makes, even over the tactical/practical 35 model. While it's jumpy in the hand, out to 15 yards I can make consistent hits on the target. Can't ask for much more than that.

I think the trigger, while not as light as the 35's, is just fine for the subcompact. There are worse triggers in small pistols out there.

OP: The Glock subs are some of best shooting in the factory line. The bone stock G27/G33 are my favorite carry pieces and with proper ammo will likely shoot better than you will. The 40 and 357 both can shoot groups with shots touching (rested) @ 15 yards. Try the "new" 155 Silver Tips for SD. They expand well and penetrate 12-15 inches thru denim and water jugs.

I been thinking about the G27 myself, just haven't made up my mind yet.I like 40's better than 9mm.even though I have three of each.

I ride the fence with 9 and .40, it depends on what gun we're talking about. In a single stack, I want a 9mm because I want the flattest, smallest single stack possible and generally single stack 9's are cheaper than single stack .40's. If it's a subcompact doublestack, I don't see anything beating a .40 for a small, but powerful package and the only gain with a 9mm subcompact is 1 more round... to me that's not significant enough. For a G19 or larger, I think the 9mm ever so slightly beats out .40 for the lower recoil, higher capacities, and price of practice ammo, but I don't think one can go wrong either way.

The bottom line is if you want power, .40 will beat 9mm, if you want smaller/lighter pistols or lower recoil and higher capacities, 9mm wins.

I really like the .40 platform it's kinda the best compromise for power and affordability IMHO. I don't find it to jumpy in a small handgun such as the 27 and definitely don't have to sacrifice capacity. I know all common handgun calibers are very close with today's ammo but I believe there's a reason a large percentage of LEO dependents carry the .40 cal. Not wanting to debate calibers, just stating my opinion and like of the versatility.

I have a 27 and bought a Lone wolf 9mm conversion barrel and a few mags to let my wife shoot it also. No fft or hangups. I finally bought her a 26.
