Just purchased a new Glock 30S several weeks ago,and the rear of the slide hangs over the frame by a measured .032". The "dust cover" of the frame protrudes in front of the slide by about the same amount. I contacted Glock and was told that all 45ACP Glocks have this same misalignment , and it did not affect the function. If I remove the barrel and spring ,reinstall the slide , it aligns correctly. It appears that the grove/ slot of the barrel that locks the barrel to the frame is not machined deep enough, not allowing the slide assembly to move forward enough. Any one else have this condition?

You mean like this (these are two different guns):

Every G30S I've seen and handled has been aligned like that...I'd say the CS guy was correct.

Didn't you notice the alignment before you bought it?

Glock 30S slide misalignment

No, I did not notice the misalignment before purchase. I traded a Glock 30SF in on the new 30S which had no misalignment. I'm disappointed in the manufacturing tolerances that would allow this much misalignment but, I guess I'll live with it.

That is what I thought he meant also, but in the time I've moderated this form, I've found it is usually safer to take what is written at face value...as the written word lacks inflection and correct sentence structure becomes more important
