hi guys i wanna get a glock 34 for range can anyone tell any info on it

I have one. I really like it. I shoot uspsa production with it. It is my second favorite range gun behind my Dan Wesson pointman 9. When I gather up enough mags and balls I will try single stack. For me I have messed with springs a little and changed the sights on the 34. Sights are a must. So many things you can do with the 34. Parts are everywhere.

just secifications on the gun g34 on budsgun is $628 but buds is out of stock

is it a good all round gun how is the recoil on it

Good can mean alot of things if you are asking if it is reliable.. Yes.

The felt recoil will depend on what you own and are used to shooting but its light or soft.

They are great competition guns but if you are just looking for a range gun I would buy a G17 because they are cheaper and with better availability.

The longer barrel will make it not very carryable and more or less a range gun/HD.

im not going to do competition but i do like the g34 the g17 gen4 on bud is $549.00 g17 gen3 is $499.00

I had one; didn't care for it

For some reason, I couldn't shoot it any better than I could shoot a 17. Lighter trigger, longer sight radius. Should make the difference, but it didn't for me. I think it was that mushy trigger action.

I thought the proportions were great. The construction, from a pure engineering standpoint, was brilliant. All you need is a home-made punch to detail strip it.

I also didn't care for the extended mag release button. It dug into my thumb under recoil. Good idea, but it just didn't work. The finger grooves on the front of the grip seemed like it would make it much more comfortable than previous Glocks, but it was only a small improvement. It is not in the same league as the Walther P99, for example.

If you want that type of gun, get a P99 or save a few bucks and get a Glock 17.

The G34 is a competition gun; it is essentially a G17 that comes with the slide/barrel lengthened to fit some specific competetive constraints, and extended controls. It has some features that are not so great for a carry gun, such as the extended mag catch and open port on top of the slide.

Not everyone likes the extended mag catch; as a lefty it doesn't work for me; it digs into my hand badly... so, I spent $2.50 on a factory G17 size mag catch, and swapped it out in all of about 15 seconds.

For an "all around" gun, I'd get the 17. For pure sporting use, the 34 has some slight advantages.

What recoil? That giant Glock with the wimpy 9mm round should be able to empty it's mag into a man sized target 10 yards away before a single case hits the ground. And the Glock 35 is hardly any different even though it's a .40.

A bit of an exageration. But I love rapid firing these, then pauseing to hear the cases fall on concrete.

Excellent competition gun or open carry police/.mil sidearm. King of IDPA stock class. Don't overlook the 35 though.

My only real complaint is I don't like the open top on the slide. But since I make my own holsters from .090 Kydex it's a non issue. Just see if you can get a holster that covers the complete top of the slide.

I wouldn't use an open bottom holster that fits a 19/23/32 for example.

I also would replace the extended slide stop lever with a regular lever and trim the mag release down to exactly what I need.

For day time use put a Plain black Warren Sevigny Comp (.150" wide) or 10-8 (.156") rear sight, and the thinnest Dawson FO front sight available.

For night use, Hienie Ledge Nightsight Racecut (.156") and the Henie or Dawson front Nightsight (.125" wide)

Grab a Glockworks Comp spring kit while your at it.

i havent had an opportunity to shoot it yet but i picked up a 24c today.. had been eyeballing it for a couple of months... it finally got the best of me. i love the feel of the gun and anxiously await the opportunity to get to the range with it... I have every intention of trading for a kkm 9mm barrel for it ASAP, and anticipate the recoil to be just next to nada....

I got it for no other reason than i can... I like to shoot, so why not?

I have a G24 .40s&w and I love it. The 24 has a 6 inch barrel and using a benchrest is a laser to 75 yards. I really like the extended slide release. I have the 3.5# trigger and it is mushy. I wish I knew of a trigger that would break like a single action. The longer sight radius is helpful with those 50 yard milk jug shots. I'd like to know if a drop in 9mm barrel and mag would work in my G24?
