Glock 36 ?

The local gun shop has several used Glock 36's for sale and I am wondering if the number is high because there are problems with the the gun or is it just coincidence? The model 36 is a single stack version of the double stack Glock 30.

Alot of local shops will take handguns from police dept's as trade ins. if this is the case some of these wpns. may have been well cared and used very little as back up guns. They could also have been dropped in training not cleaned cared for by the oficers that carried them. Ask the shop owner.

The 36 is one of the most appealing guns that Glock makes. Hey what's not to like about a single stack compact .45? But small powerful guns aren't always easy to shoot. Glock 36s are commonly available used whereas the larger, more shootable, Glock 30 is not.

I've had 2 G36s, one was a defective lemon that destroyed itself in its first 100 rounds, the other is proving to be rugged, reliable and accurate. The G36 has been said by many to be the most problematic Glock, but overall they're good guns, IMO.

Mine was a great gun that I am sorry I sold (even though it went to my brother). Reliable and more accurate than it should have been.

30 on the other hand has a great rep . . . .

I was thinking that the 36 is actually thinner as far as the slide goes. I checked the Glock website and it says the G36 is 1.13" wide while the G30 is 1.27" wide. I'm assuming those are slide dimensions and not just the grip width.

I also noticed that the G36 has a slightly longer sight radius than the G30. Other dimensions like OAL and barrel length, etc are the same it seems.

the G 36 is a slimed down G30 meant for CCW duty and the what not. they are considered sister guns, but otherwise are not interchangeable to the best of my knowledge

Now looking at the G36 some more, i find myself wishing that it had a light rail up front and also a full 3-finger grip w/ flush mag plate like the G19 or G23 have, while still being single stack .45ACP.

IMO Glock should start pumping out an all-new line of single-stack "slimline" guns that are both compact(G19 size) and subcompact(G26 size)...having the sub-compact size being no wider than 1".

I'd kill for a 1" wide G26 9mm!!! I'd go buy 2 right away..a 9mm first then probably a .40. I'd even pay 600+ for them. All my carry troubles would be over... ahhh that would be the day! If only Glock had some marketing strategy besides their reputation They should hire me.. I could make them some serious dough.

Yeah, the poor G36 got the rep of being unreliable.
IMHO, this was a vicious rumor started by sour grapes G30 owners!!!
I have one of the first to come off the boat. (born on date: 10/2000)
I traded in a perfectly good Brick 30 for it.
I've never looked back!!

Had a 30 that I won at a Glock match. Shot it ten times and took it to the gunshop and sold it. Hated it. My 21 is bad enough but that thing was worthless unless you needed a good paperweight.
