Opinions on Glock 36.

I'd recommend it hands down over any other baby glock. It is the least popular glock and absolutely fantastic imo. Shoot one and see.

The 26/27/30 is better if you are thick in the biscuit though. Being a trim, these other options never suited me. YMMV.

The G36 is an example of a Glock frame being perfect for the job. I got a G36 over a year ago and it's a great pistol. Easy to shoot, accurate, and has never failed. I've heard reports of problems but I have not had any. I don't shoot hollowpoint ammo with it so perhaps it's the slick solid nose stuff that's keeping the gun cycling.

It's about the size of a G26 and is easy to carry. Of all the Glocks I own or have owned - the G36 and the G32 really shine in terms of design ergonomics seem to be perfectly matched to recoil.

The G36 is a tool AND a range toy.

It's bigger than the 26. It's closer to the 19/23/32 guns, coming within 1000ths of an inch across the board.

As stated, I'd choose a 19 or 23 instead if basing my choice on size. If I insisted on a .45, in a Glock, I'd go G-21-SF or G-30

Why does everyone say get the pierce +0 why not get the one that holds more ammo? Is this just a weight issue?

Short term, low mileage G 36

If you reload H&G 68 SWC, the WC part stutters a bit as it contacts, then over rides over the front of the magazine. Still works OK but it is a bump in the road. I've been shooting 7.+ Unique with the #68. That load is sooty, greasy, and is a great brass slinger.

WW2 .30 cal Carbine canvas snap flap mag carriers hold the OEM mags securely.

I've had it about 8 months and still can't bring myself to carry the Glock IWB cocked and un-locked.

Not really weight, it just makes the grip too long for concealed carry for many. The +1 adds a bit more than 1/2" to the gun height.

If you get a +1, it is recommended to get the 10% stronger Wolff mag spring to make up for the longer magazine. Without that spring, the 7 round mag has been said to have feeding problems when the mag gets near empty. Which I imagine is another reason people shy away from the +1 grip extensions.

For me it is two things. First, I don't want to mess with the stock magazine design at this time and risk any sort of function problems. Second, the +1 extension adds to the overall height of the gun which compromises concealability a bit.

Also, all I really needed was a pinky groove to complete the picture. The +0 is only very slightly taller than the stock plate, it is the shape of the front edge that counts:

Having said that, I do plan to experiment with one or two +1 extensions in the future to see how they work.

You are correct, although the 1000ths would have to be added to be at least 100ths.

I can tell you why I picked the G36 over those other Glocks near its size. I was looking specifically for a small single stack .45 ACP handgun that is not a cocked and locked 3" barreled 1911. I've fired a few 3" barrel 1911s and in my experience they are a bit fussy on how you hold them to prevent a limp wrist malfunction. The G36 in my experience is comparatively more forgiving of how you hold it, plus it is built with a 3.8" barrel which might aid in velocity just a bit. (Decent photos here - http://www.glocktalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1260591 )

I also prefer the smooth, unrailed dustcover of the G36 over carry guns with rails. For instance, why in the world doesn't KelTec get rid of that rail on the PF9? Just my personal preference there is all.

The G36 doesn't fit everyone or suit everyone, but I do like how it is just that little bit slimmer than a G19 as seen in the photos in the following link. http://www.gunsamerica.com/blog/the-glock-36-a-thinner-45acp/

Glock lists the thickness of the G-36 at 1.13" while the thickness of the G-19 is listed at 1.18"

50/1000ths or 5/100ths or 1/20th of an inch.

Me, I'll deal with that minuscule difference and get 14 shots of .40 over 7 shots of .45
