Upon taking my concealed carry class I was in need of a compact carry piece. I looked at Ruger , Taurus, Smith and Keltec compact pistols. I also held the small SIG 9mm and a Walther .380. Sorry for my lack of model numbers but I would butcher them.
I thought about a Taurus 85, super light weight, or even the small J frame 5 shot Smith's. It seemed only .38 +p guns were in my budget. I wasn't looking to spend over 500 for a compact pistol. I resisted and finally held the G43. She felt great in my sausage fingers. Then I found out Glock is offering blue label pricing with a DD214. Done deal. Order one please.
My disclaimer is the only other Glock I have owned is an early Gen 3 G23 I bought new in 1999. Typical mushy trigger with great ergonomics. ( to me )
The 43 looks well built with good fit and finish you would expect from a Glock. The trigger is on the heavy side but has a crisp break for a Glock. Not one hiccup through 150 115 gr ball rounds and a few 147 golden sabers. Recoil is on par with my 23 but very manageable. I like the weight and slim design. The two mags are good but I want a third with the pinky groove. The flat mag will be easier to conceal. The sights are standard Glock sights (huge) but I have learned them over the years and the gun is accurate in initial firing.
So far so good. Worth every penny!
