Glock 43 recoil??

I tend to disagree with most of the people here. My 43's recoil was incredibly soft and mild. Stouter than my 17 for sure, but it ate plenty of +p with no discomfort on my part. And I'm the guy who left 40sw due to recoil so I'm no hulking macho man.

Latest update: went to the range that rents guns. Unfortunately, they wanted me to pay a full year of membership just to try out one pistol, one time. So, I still haven't shot the G43. In the meantime, I handled a number of pistols. Got to handle the G43, the Kimber Micro 9, and the Sig 938. As far as fit for my hands the Sig 938 wins hands down (pun intended). It has a nice palm swell and the extended mag; a very nice combo. Par of me is that is is also the most expensive. I would rather not spend $800. The Kimber is the 'prettiest' and the hand fit is Ok as is the Glock. Also moved a consignment gun from one dealer to another who is certain he can sell it. So, I just may soon have the money to buy whatever I want:)

I don't think you need to spend $800 on a P938
Most models can get pretty close after taxes, etc. Thats why I'm holding out for the mythical 938HD.

GLOCK 43, 9mm, stiff recoil... When shooting my G43 I've never put all three of these descriptors together.

Get a friend to let you shoot his/hers or go rent one. See for yourself.

My very petite 22 year old daughter likes shooting my G43 as much as her G26. Not an issue with recoil.

I tried the rental route, but the range didn't work out. And I don't know anyone who has a G43. Friends have allowed me to shoot a Kahr and an M&P Shield. The Kahr is out and the Shield is still a maybe. Recently a Sig P938 and P238 are being considered along with the new Kimber Micro 9. So many choices, so little money:)

Maybe start by choosing the type of action you like ... Striker fired, hammer DA/Sa, hammer SA only, manual safety or not, weight range, dimensions, etc. There are so many to choose from ...which is a good thing.

Yikes! Now the R51 is back and I've been wanting one for awhile now. Clearly I'm going to have to buy 3 or 4 carry guns and rotate them. My birthday is the 17th; i'll be dropping hints to my sweetie.
