I was just gonna share my experience with Glock Customer Service.

I recently contacted Glock about a possible crack in my frame and was told it was probably cosmetic. But on further investigation, I realized my G21, manufactured in 2002 was part of the group that Glock had put a recall on the frame due to some breakage of the frame rails. I was given the option of a frame swap with a different serial number with a time frame of 2-4 weeks turnaround or ordering a frame from Austria with the same serial number plus a 1 at the beginning of the SN with a turnaround of 10-12 weeks.

I chose the simple frame swap with the 2-4 week turnaround time. From the day I shipped my G21, to the day it was at my door, it was a total of 16 days. I thought that this was outstanding, considering the back log of orders Glock is dealing with.

I am not a "Glock fanboy", as I believe in buying what you like. I do believe that that this reflects well on their Customer Service. Everyone I dealt with was very helpful and polite. Just wanted to share my experience with y'all. Now I need a day off to shoot it! :D

I have zero experience with Glock customer service and that's one of the reasons I purchased a Glock.... Because I haven't known any Glock owners who needed any customer service. But it's comforting to hear that they stand behind their products just in case I ever had to seek any customer service.

Kinda stinks that you have a mismatched serial number now though.
LOL. Yeah, I know what you mean, but I guess it is not that big an issue for me. I guess it could affect the value if I ever wanted to sell it. I don't do much selling or trading, or buying for that matter, tend to hold on to what few guns I have, have only sold 1 gun, ever.

I do like the "SF" frame that they put on it. And with the warranty replacement, I got a brand new lower half for my 12 y/o Glock for only shipping cost. And only I know the numbers don't match. :)

Mirrors my several experiences with Glock. As to the mismatched serial numbers (I have one instances with a G23), it's a non event for me. Matched serial numbers are a good thing for collectables but the chance of any run-of-the-mill Glock attaining that status is pretty much zero.

The frame is the gun and that's the only serial number that counts. Most, if not all, non Glock after market barrels have no serial number. The Glock 357 Sig barrel I bought for my son's G22 doesn't have a serial number. Is that true of them all ... don't know.

Congratulations on the fast turn around.

When I had a problem with a gun they did a good job making it right. Except that it took over three months from start to finish.

I can remember the Glock recall on Model 17s that was during the early 1990's. I sent them my Glock and my brothers as both were within the serial number range for replacing most of the internal parts (mainly had to do with the trigger group and the firing pin assembly). Turnaround time was fairly quick (around three and a half weeks), and they sent both guns back in new plastic cases. No other issues to report since then.
