I read the following text on www.handgunreviews.com; it was discovered on the Glock review page:

Make: Glock Model: ALL E -PREFIX Action: Double Action Caliber: Other
Rating:
Review: ALL GLOCKS HAVING THE E-PREFIX ARE RECALLED DUE TO THE BREAKAGE OF SOME OF THE REAR SLIDE RAIL TABS IF YOU HAVE ONE OF THESE PISTOLS PLEASE CONTACT GLOCK, INC REMEMBER ALL CALIBERS ARE RECALLED AS LONG AS THEY HAVE THE E-PREFIX GLOCK WILL REPLACE THE ENTIRE FRAME FREE OF CHARGE INCLUDING SHIPPING CHARGES HERE IS AN EXAMPLE OF THE E-PREFIX (ESX-999) THE SERIAL NUMBERS ON THE NEW FRAMES WILL BE THE SAME AS YOUR OLD ONES EXCEPT THERE WILL BE A 1 IN FRONT OF YOUR ORIGINAL SERIAL NUMBER. YOU CAN CONTACT ME ON THIS MATTER @ [email protected]

Is any one able to authenticate this information? I ask because the official Glock website does not have an e-mail link, and I am not a member of www.glocktalk.com.

Thanks.

Postscript - I initiated a search for this subject on THR, but the sheer volume of pages generated by the keywords "Glock recall" was quite sobering.

This is fairly old news and affected a number of Glocks manufactured I believe in 2002. Many, not all, E series serial number Glocks (i.e., Exx ###) are affected.

Just give Glock a call and they have a list of affected serial numbers. They can tell you if yours is affected. There is no charge at all (they pay allshipping etc) and they do a complete frame swap out. It is like getting a new gun :)

Takes about 10-15 days total for most people.

I have a G19 that was not affected, and a G21 that was.
