Glock Gen4 bugs worked out yet?

It looks like Glock has made some changes in the Gen4 pistols a couple of times now and I haven't heard much talk about them since. Did they get them ironed out or should I still be leary? It looks like they changed the extractor and the recoil spring assembly and possibly more.

I have had some Gen2 and Gen3 guns before but I really like the feel of the Gen4 significantly more. I also like the new mag release much better too. I'm looking at the G17.

I don't want this to be a glock bashing thread or a "gen 4 is just plain junk" thread....I just want to know if anyone has experience with the gen 4 9mm guns with the updated parts.

I bought a Gen 4 Glock 19 August of 2010. I've run around 1,500 rounds through it without any failures of any kind.
 
I have a G26 and a G34 both Gen 4's. Never had any problems with the 34 it's a fantastic gun. The 26 did stove pipe once. I sent it in and the changed the extractor and the ejector. Never had any problems since. I had a G17 Gen 4 but I traded it for the G34. It also functioned flawlessly. Gen 4 = greatest Glock ever made.
 
I've never had any problems with my gen 4's,19 and a 26. The 19 was the only one I read about that had issuse, but mine has ran flawless. Actually it doesn't eject brass straight onto the bill of my hat like the gen 3 does.
So I wouldn't be leary at all, and I never read any issuse with the gen 4 17 at all.
 
I'm a big fan of the gen4. I know there is only a 2mm backstrap difference, but it made me a glock fan, especially combined with the grip and the new mag release.

Gen4 34 - Just bought it! Can't report anything for a few more months and a couple of competitions, but I'll run a few hundred rounds through it this weekend.

Gen4 17 - Owned it, sold it. Reliable for the 1500 rounds I owned it. It is an odd size for me. Too big (for me) to carry (without dressing like the Michelin Man), so I'd rather have a 34.

Gen4 19 - This is the one for me. It won me over to the darkside. I've ran it hard. I quit counting at 5k rounds. Never a single problem. I've ran it through multiple competitions with practice in between without cleaning or adding lube and it just keeps on running. I wanted to see if it would choke, never did and I gave up and cleaned it. It's become my favorite shooter (don't tell my 1911's) and you'll have to pry this one from my cold, dead hands at slide lock.

Gen4 26 - Owned it, sold it, regretted it. The gen4 26 uses the ssame dual recoil spring as the gen 3, so the only thing different is the mag release, backstrap and grip texture so it is good to go without wonder. As a matter of fact, if you look at the lonewolf page, their aftermarket slide fits both the gen4 and gen3 on the 26. I found it a little too thick for carry, but I've since lost 20 lbs and my blue jeans fit better with a glock in the waist lol. I'll be picking up another gen4 26 today with any luck.

I don't like mods on them other than a gen 3 17 smooth face trigger (seems like a better trigger pull to me without that hump on the bar) and warren tactical sevigny carry sights or heinie sights. The 34 is a blue label, so I did put a lighter transfer bar on it. The trigger pull was a little heavy out of the box. Other than that, the best mod is this:

The trigger will smooth itself out after around 1K - 1.5K rounds. I try not to change anything until then, except for the blue label guns with heavier triggers.

The 9mm and 40 caliber pistols also us the same recoil spring and Federal Ammo did not have enough power for constant proper auto feeding.

I heard that, too. But my 19 was one of the "problem children" and I received a replacement spring. Funny thing is, mine funtioned with every range fodder type under the sun...federal, Tula, RWS, WWB. Guess I was just lucky.
 
Just a few minutes ago got back from my gun club where I put another 150 through my Gen4 19. That brings my total round count for it to about 2,200.

If the Gen4 19s had bugs I never saw any. My 19 is the second best feeling and best shooting gun in my collection. My BHP is the best.
 
Just bought a Gen 4 G19 and G26 and took them shooting over the weekend putting 200 rounds through both and they were flawless with no FTE or brass in the face. Both had test fire dates of Feb 2012 so they have the new parts in them. I love them both.
 
Gen 4 17's and 34's, yes, most likely.

Gen 4 19's, no.

Gen 4 26's - not enough information.

Yes, they have. The new RSA fix is in place. The problem of brass to the face is fixed for those who have issue with it.

They use the same dual recoil spring as the gen3. The slides are even completely interchangeable. The only possibility for problems would be the newer MIM extractors causing the occasional piece of brass to fly out erratically...but again, that issue is resolved.
 
Any bugs with the Gen 4 have been worked out for quite some time now. Get one. Mine have been 100%
 
been looking for a gen 4 glock 23 for months. all national wholesalers have been out of stock for months. getting tired of waiting. bought the holster months ago. not the greatest purchase. so no, bugs have not been worked out yet.
 
all gen 4 glocks have had the bugs worked out....just depends on the one you get. local dealers are still selling the ones they got back in the day. anyway, the 19 was one of the last to fix. they put a new extractor claw in them....i'm sure some people will say blahblahblah, no they didnt.
 
bad extractors eh? Well, that's news to me and our agency. We've done several qual. shoots with our gen 4 19s, no hiccups. Period. Good day!

I hear that was a problem across the board, not just gen4's. That's just internet speculation, though. I don't own any gen3's anymore so I couldn't tell you.

I honestly can't tell you if mine has extractor issues. I do quite a bit of dynamic shooting and shooting from behind/beside barriers at awkward angles so brass is going to hit me sooner or later. It honestly doesn't bother me if it does, so I don't make mental note of it. It would need to consistently slap me in the face with every single shot for me to stand up and take notice.
 
Gen 4 G26 has been my EDC for a year, I practice also with WalMart Federal 9mm and have never had an issue.

The RSA fix did exactly didly squat for most issues with Gen 4s. That you bring it up make me believe you either don't have a Gen 4 one or were fortunate enough to no experience issues.

The 30274 ejector helped the major Gen 4 issues, particularly in the 17s.

None of the above cured all issues with brass to the face in Gen 4 (or gen 3) 19s. If you have a good one, great, doesn't mean they're all good to go.
