Glock Generation 4 vs 3

Oh boy here we go ,,,,

I'm looking for a G30 and out of the 3 GS I've been to …. one had a Gen4, one had a Gen3, and the third said he could only order me a Gen4 which he said is better then the 3's but could he be saying that just to get me to buy it from him? I haven't seen um up next to each other if that makes a difference?

So my question to those in the know is.

1. MOST IMPORTANT Has there been any reports of any issues with the G4's and if so what are they

2. Do the G3 and G4's use the same recoil springs and replacement barrels

3. I know that the G4's have an interchangeable back strap grip and a reversible mag release that I don't care about

Should we treat this as a New Manufactured Handgun like when a manufacture comes out with a new model and wait a while before we buy it for the bug-a-boos and gremlins to be worked out or are the changes like the back-straps so minor that it will not effect the reliability of the Glock's we have all become accustom to?

So what say you
<A> should I find a Gen 3 and get it <B> get a Gen 4 or <C> wait a little while and get the Gen4 ???

Glock 30Gen4 has not been released and Glock has not announced it would offer it.

Next Gen4 Glocks to be released later this year are the Glock 34Gen4 and 21Gen4.

There have been reported issues with the 9x19mm Gen4 Glocks. Glock had to redesign the recoil system in order to address those issues.

No reported reliability issues with the Glock 22Gen4, 23Gen4, 27Gen4, 31Gen4, 35Gen4 and 37Gen4.

The recoil system is different between the Gen4 Glocks and the previous generations of Glocks. They are not compatible.

Since, you do not care for the interchangable backstraps or the reversable magazine release and you are interested in a Glock 30; then get either a third gen Glock 30 or Glock 30SF (which ever fits your hand better), because you may have to wait 2+ years for the Glock 30Gen4 to be released.

I guess the GS fellows that were touting their G30's as a new Gen4 are confusing the NEW'er Gen3 "SF" models with the Gen4's.

That's why I came here to inquire I knew someone here could and would straighten the twisted path.

I have a Gen 4 Glock 19 with absolutely no problems, after shooting a gen 3 this weekend I would buy a Gen 4 over the Gen 3 everytime because the grip texture and mag release is much better in my opinion. I also didn't think I would use the backstraps but I now found that I like the largest one best. Gen 4's also come with 3 mags.
