Glock Generations Question

I've been debating on whether or not I should sell my G-23 to help fund a Kahr PM9. So--I search in the buy-sell-trade forum to see if I can determine the value of my Glock. Then I discovered there are three generations of Glocks. I THINK I have a first generation Glock because I bought it just shortly after the G-23 became available. But, the G-17 and G-19 had been around for a bit before the .40 guns were introduced. Maybe I have a second generation gun. Anyone know? It's an early G-23 w/ 13 rnd. magazines. Also, to what do generations 1,2,3 pertain? Anything significant?
