Glock magazine conversion?

No, I don't think so.

The mag catch method of operation on the mag, and catch location on the mag are not even close to the same.

Why would you want too anyway??

I've modified Beretta 92 mags to work in a Ruger P85. The follower won't engage the slide stop lug, so it won't log the slide back. The floor plate doesn't sit flush with the bottom of the frame either. Otherwise, it feeds better than the more expensive and harder to get Ruger factory mags. The more expensive/harder to get part along with an overabundance of Beretta 92 mags was the reason for the attempt.

The reason being, I bought the xds because I typically carry a spare magazine with me when I carry. The xds uses a true single stack magazine, so carrying extras is easy. But, I shoot my glock 36 better. The glock mags are so bulky, though, they might as well be a double stack. If I could get the glock to run off of 1911-style mags, such as the xds mags, it would make carrying my favorite ccw easier.

But if the XDs mags are so much thinner??
They would not fit the Glock mag well, even if you could get them to lock in somehow.

Maybe the best option is to practice with the XDs until you shoot it better then the Glock.

It IS capable of doing it, when you are.

Your two choices would be to make the XDS mag thicker until it fit the Glock mag well, or shim the Glock mag well until the XDS mag fit; either would be a major undertaking, and the second would render the gun unusable with a standard Glock magazine.

I agree; shoot the XDS more-

I have an STI 2011 single stack grip frame. It is plastic, actually a double stack grip frame with plastic spacers on both sides pinned in place. The mag catch is made special for single stack mags too.

There are not a lot of things out there that can't be done with the right combination of time and money.

I'd suggest taking a little Paxil and using the Glock 36's magazines.:eek:
