A question for those of you who actually carry a concealed Glock with an extended OEM magazine release button: have you ever had an inadvertent button activation while carrying?

Some Gen 3 extended releases have engaged on me, carrying either left or right handed.

I use an “tweener” release from ND. Good release.

I do not use an extended mag release because of how tight my gun is to my body. I’ll take my chances of a possible slower reload vs dropping a loaded mag in the grocery store.

Being left handed, I found that kydex IWB would flex and release the mag. One reason I switched to OWB.

G34 comes with the factory extended ones so when I get a 34 I always replace them with a standard release .

The connection between hybrid style holsters with large flexible sweat shields and inadvertent mag release is strong, and not just among Glock's.
No doubt.

At the same time, I have never had an issue with that holster and a standard mag release.

Good reminder that it’s a carry “system”, and not just the one component.

The Police officer that shuttled cars back and forth to our shop, stopped in for coffee one morning, with his mag hanging out of his gun. He said he switched it out for qualifying, forgot to put the shorty back in.

Yep, my 19C had one and the few times I carried it, it popped the mag once or twice.

For my other Gen 3s I put in the Vickers "Tango Down" (or whatever it was called) extended release and never had a problem with it.

Stock mag release is one of the million things I prefer about Gen 4/5

I've thought about this too. Never had a problem with my 19 G4. My guess if one were to have a problem with this, a holster change would solve the problem. Newer magazines hold firmer by a tiny little bit..... new spring for the release also may tighten it up a bit. Lower profile ones are available I would think.
