The happy addition to our family is resting at home comfortably. The new baby came in at 2 lbs. 6 oz. Looking like she’s going to turn out to be a hot little number. (40SW) The magazine fits the well, perfect. Sits high and tight. So my concerns over poor mag release and cut on the mag not seating well abated. In the description they didn’t say whether it had a spacer in the magazine, but it does. I just cycled 20 mags full of snap caps. Not a single problem. I quickly made up five short dummy rounds loaded to a short 1.120” cOAL. No hangup. Then I made five more long loaded to 1.200” cOAL. Slide is not dragging feed lips. Clearance is from what I can tell. Exact! Got a good feeling about this 1911. Going to run 300 rounds tomorrow. Be well ALL.

I like it:thumbup: with an ambidextrous safety also

It what you feel is best! Everyone has a opinion, based on their life. Do what you think is best!

That’s a sweet 1911 and you got rid of a Glock in the process. I see nothing wrong there. I seriously considered that configuration in 10mm before I bought the RIA gi 10mm. That’s a huge price difference essentially for a set of sights, so I settled on the cheap ones. Sometimes I wish I had got the better sights but someday I will buy sights. I hope you enjoy that Foh-tee cal!

Congrats, OP. Excellent choice, and a 40S&W!

Capacity as a con, in terms of being less than the Glock is in the eye of the beholder. First, an extra mag can be carried, and if you learn and practice to drop and swap 'about as fast' as the better competitors, where's con or downside? Seriously. Enjoy that factory magwell, and practice and gain confidence with fast mag changes.

I haven't read of about any THR member or 'forums' narrative in recent years where the owner needed a second 1911 mag- except in competition.

We've been hearing and reading all the Glock hype since the 80's about civilians (non LE) wanting 16+ capacity on board. Much of that is hype, and this is not meant to criticize anyone that would prefer not to walk around without it.

I hear you Hikingman. I'm old and creaky but still try to roll.
