Interesting. Guess that is why it is closed at the moment.

Well folks, I pulled the first all-nighter I've had to in a very long time, but the site is up on a new server, with all new program files. I sincerely hope this puts paid to the situation.

As you have probably already figured out, the place is a mess. Nothing is where it should be and plenty of stuff is missing. There is a temp page where the main index page should be and several features are not working properly. Once I get some sleep. I'll get back after it and try to get everything in order.

If you spot any more virus activity, please PM me. That will send PM email notifications that I will see on my phone. Sorry for the mess folks. Eric

Site works fine for me now

I had the same thing happen to me yesterday on defensivecarry.com. Some movie kept trying to load several times. I finally erased the history in my computer and didn't try it again. I figured someone was trying to hack it with their liberal message.

Havent been on Glocktalk for awhile..To be honest not a fan of them at all. I don't want to get descriptive, but theres a reason I prefer to be on THR, and not glocktalk... THR is one of the best (thru my short experience on thr). When i first signed up for THR i signed up for glocktalk and a few others around the same time also...

Glocktalk is just like the Glock pistols...you can put the site server in the center of the sun and it would still be able to function better than all your wussy American sites! ;-)

Heh. I haven't been there since September 12 2001 when one of the moderator approved 'clique' ranted at me for not being patriotic and not joining the US military. I am an Australian. :p

Oh well, I hope the site is back up soon, as it was a good source of info for new shooters and I assume it still is. Once I got past learning the basics of my Glock I found THR & TFL were much better sources of info about all other aspects of shooting.

That's a shame.

I'm not a Glocktalk member, but I'd encourage you not to write off a site because of one bad experience with one American who was not at his best within 24 hours of the worst attack ever on our home soil.

A lot of Americans rose to the occasion on 9/11, but many good reasonable people gave into emotion (and frankly, how could we not?) during the days that followed the attacks. Unless you were here, you'll never know exactly what it felt like to see those towers come down while we watched helpless at home, work, or school. Hopefully you'll never have your heart thrown in that blender of anger, fear, and patriotism.

Anyway, my point is that you should give it another shot. I'm not trying to excuse the behavior you experienced, but I doubt any red-blooded American would be proud of everything they said and did in the week following the attacks, and I'd hope your bad experience was just an outlier unfortunately amplified by the tragedy.

Oh, and I don't believe in letting an idiot ruin your happiness :)

Pardon my language, but that is one hell of a post. Those feelings are hard to describe but you did a great job of it.

I bought my P7 off of GLockTalk classifieds. For that I still like them. Other than that I have 4 posts to my credit.

I hope THR never goes down the GlockTalk road.

Mr.Davies:
That was exceptionally well said. And very the high road. I watched the towers fall live as well, waking from a disturbed sleep in time to see tower two hit. I considered it to be an attack on the entire free world, as I am one of those people who consider the truths that America was founded on to be universal. While the American people can hold on to the freedoms guaranteed by her founders then freedom cannot be extinguished on this earth.

I am however not one of the people who think that the American governing class cares to offer more than lip service to those truths and freedoms. It's up to We The People to defend them.

Re Glock Talk: Its against forum rules to bash other forums, not is it the high road and almost a decade has passed so things may have changed.

_at the time_ I noticed a pattern of behavior that was becoming the norm, including personal abuse aimed at members who were not part of the clique, political partisan attacks (references to Democrats & libtarbs being the norm and least abusive), attacks on peoples religious beliefs, along with completely off topic discussions (I really didn't need to know which posters chose not to wear underpants). When I was attacked it just brought forward a decision I was going to make anyway. I think I may have made a few technical replies in the gun related sub forums after that, but I was no longer a member of the online community and quickly drifted away.

As a source of technical information about Glocks the site was and probably is second to none. For all other shooting and second amendment information there are other sites that don't/didn't suffer from those failings. The High Road, The Firing Line and Beretta Forum come to mind. I think I have been a reasonably helpful contributor on all three forums and have enjoyed the usually thoughtful, helpful and generally polite discussion on firearms and freedom available at each. There will be those who enjoy Glock Talks style, it's just not for me.

Anyway, it's time for me to go to work, thank you for your very thoughtful reply. Hopefully tomorrow morning (1AM my time) we will be able to celebrate another small step for freedom when the McDonald case is handed down.
