I've been evaluating a product from Glow Ammo that is a "cold tracer". By cold, I mean that the tracer does not use any pyrotechnic compound to produce light. That means the tracer is safe for indoor range use or for use on outdoor ranges where there's concern for fire safety.

Another interesting feature of this technology is that it's only visible to the shooter and not to the target.

I have no use for this stuff but I just want to say that I really enjoy your videos. I've been a subscriber for a good while. You have a very confident/professional presence on camera and you seem to always know what to say next, as if you're reading off a script. Nicely done.

I bought a pack when they first were released. I loaded up 50 of these in 45 ACP and I couldnt see the flashes. I was shooting in door. Next time I make 45 i'll load some up, but so far I'm not impressed.

If you're using their reloading dots that you affix yourself, those are different than the loaded ammo I show in the video.

I've heard about some of the issues encountered with their reload kits. Dots falling off mid-flight, not being bright enough, etc. That's a limitation of the "do it yourself" product that they hoped to remedy by offering loaded ammo.

I had no trouble seeing the trace with their loaded ammo.

It uses a chemical compound that reacts to light, heat and pressure and turns that energy into a red glow that's visible. A light stick works when two compounds come into contact with each other and it glows for quite some time. The material on the bullet glows only for a short time and doesn't require two or more compounds/chemicals to be mixed. I would say it's more like the stuff used to make the markers on a watch face glow when exposed to light, only more complex in nature.
