GOA takes Credit for Heller Decision...

To Paraphrase Abe Lincoln:

You can please some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you can not please all of the people all of the time.

Give it a rest folks - Heller is a winner!:)

We once lived next to neighbors who raised chickens. Every morning at sunrise their rooster crowed loudly over and over at the top of its little lungs.

I wondered how something with such a small brain and an awfully small body could make such a great deal of noise. When I asked our neighbor for her opinion she hesitated for a moment and said: "Well, I guess that rooster has to be loud enough to make the sun rise every morning."

We moved shortly afterwards. I haven't seen that neighbor in many years, and I rarely think of her except when I see something from Gun Owners of America. I suppose GOA has to be loud enough to make the sun rise every morning too.

The sun, by the way, has risen every day during all those years despite the absence of our former neighbor and her rooster. We don't miss them either.

Over 50 amicus briefs were filed in the Heller case. They are interesting to court watchers for the sole purpose of seeing who supports each side, but amicus briefs hold zero weight with the justices when it comes to their rulings.

LOL, that pretty much describes the GOA. I find their breathless and self-serving rhetoric bordering on an insult to my intelligence. Their inflammatory attacks on anyone who doesn't fully agree with their position doesn't further our mutual cause. The money I once sent to GOA now goes to SAF and CCRKBA.

The NRA did absolutely nothing with Heller, they didn't even want to pursue it as a possible avenue...

GOA should get some credit...

Credit where credit is due.

Well, the NRA can't take credit as they wouldn't even touch the case until it looked like Mr. Heller might win.
Not quite.

[strike]They got on board right around the time that Parker got a sex change and switched her name to Heller.

If we're going to get confused about who was driving the case and who "won" I figure we should just go whole hog.[/strike]

I'm sorry, that wasn't called for. The case was slightly complicated and folks that are just now becoming aware of it might not know the whole story. I'll start another thread in an attempt to clear up the Big Story for folks that missed it.
