Can anyone guess? Ill give you a hint...its a pistol and the model #'s add up to 12 :p

I know Cabelas aint the best prices but I do have a card that will get me $150 on my next purchase ($150 worth of ammo aint bad to go along with a new gun).

The price they are selling it for isnt that far off a place like Buds gun shop or Gunbroker are selling it for. Once you figure in shipping and/or FFL fees its about the same price not including tax. The extra $150 card is the sweetener.

Im actually excited about getting this too!! ANd I have about 300 rds sitting at the house right now :D

Ill be posting some pics too with a range report hopefully!!

Which model of 1911 do you plan on?

commander? officer? full size? which company?

WE DEMAND DETAILS!!

I was thinking CZ 75. 7+5=12 ???

but 1911 works too, either one will be sweet pistol.

ANd I have about 300 rds sitting at the house right now

Ya better stock up, those will be gone in no time.

Im the new owner of a Dan Wesson Commander Bobtail.
Very pleased with it and REALLY like the bobtail frame. Slide to frame match up is VERY tight. The barrel/bushing match up is equally tight. NO WAY I could field strip with out a bushing wrench. The trigger is the best in a gun I have personally owned. It has maybe .75mm take up before it starts to engage and very little if any creep that I can tell while dry firing. Breaks crisp but has a VERY slight gritty feel that Im positive will smooth out after shooting it some. I dont have a way to measure how many #'s pull though. The trijicons sights are very bright in a dark room so thats another plus. The grip safety although fitted well is not as tight as the rest of the gun. It does not compare to the Ed Brown I looked at but the it is less than half the price. It also has a slightly extended magazine catch, not sure if that is that big of a plus yet or not. The thumb safety is quality and slightly oversized making it easy to disengage and rest my thumb on while shooting. I like the cocobolo grips too. I may consider some Esmerelda(sp?) slim grips in the future as I have small hands though.

Only a couple of very minor gripes and that is the grip safety. I wish it was as tight as the rest of the gun. I was reading the explanation on the Dan Wesson sub forum on 1911 forums and they said its hard to keep it at a price point especially as it takes some work to fit it that tight. I can live with that. And I wish the barrel bushing was stainless and not black, being REALLY picky there. And the magazines are not the best quality, but if they function its not that big of a deal. Besides I bought 2 Wilson Combat 8 rd mags anyway.

Looking at this vs the Kimbers. It is easily the equal if not better than most of them I was looking at. And for alot less too @ $950. It doesnt compare to Ed Brown Cobra carry but that one is $2K. I could have got it for less on line but throw in the shipping and FFL fees and its about the same. Impact arms in Boise has it on the website as a custom order for $1100 I think so I am happy with what I paid for it and thats all that matters besides shooting it. I hope there are no problems but I wont be surprised if there are a couple FTF until it gets a few rounds through it and loosens up some as it is quite tight.

I hope to shoot today if the wind doesnt pick up so bad or tomorrow around 200 rds of WWB. Once I do Ill post a new thread on the range report.

Pics added

I do like the clean slide, it not being a billboard and all.

Strange... My CBOB also has the black hammer... but my barrel bushing isn't black. My SN is C806**CZ.

Mine is a 07 model, casing was from last summer. This one must have been in Cabelas warehouse a while?
The hammer is actually a two tone. black on the rounds and stainless on the machined sides.
