The latest SGN has an article about using gold beads on front sights. It says it's better than Trijicon night sights for low light use, is very quick to acquire, and very accurate to boot. Heinie makes them (along with some other company I can't recall at the moment), but right now it's a special request item.

Anyone try one or have experience with it?

Have Novak's gold bead front on my Hipowers. THey polish its face in a swirl pattern so it collects/reflects light from many directions.

Prefer them to the current rage fiber optic ones that can "Halo" in bright light, etc.

What kind of "Low Light" is the author talking about? Still need enough light to see the bead. It does work well in dim light like a lighted parking lot or an Indoor Range with flouresent lights coated with much firing residue.

Has proven to be a great all around sight IMO, but certainly not as good as
a Tritium front at night even when you can see enough to move around, etc.
