I picked up some Remington 165gr. Gold Saber bullets to try out in my 10mm. Does anyone have experience loading full power loads with this bullet with Blue Dot?
I'd work off of the data for 155gr. and 180gr. XTP's to get an approximation, but I'm concerned about the different bore friction due to the brass jacket, also the rather long bearing surface.

The GS bullets are "bore riding" bullets. They generally take a little more powder to get the same velocity than standard same weight JHPs, as they present less friction in the bore and pressures don't build as fast.

As with all bullets, check 165 Gr JHP data, start low, and work up.

I loaded some of the 180's up in mine when they first hit the market. They shot very well out to 50yds with quite few rested groups being around 2".

I gave them a run in the woods on one hog hunt simply due to grabbing the wrong clip when I headed out in a hurry. Not a good hog bullet at all.

I use AA-9 for my loads and ran them on the upper end of the data. From my 7" barrel they easily hit 1350fps. Also the previous poster was right about them taking a tad bit more powder to reach the same velocity as others of a similar weight. This however doesn't mean to jump up a full grain, simply move up in tenths.

Thanks for the input, I'm going to go with the 180gr. loads as starter, looks like the BlueDot load will start at 11gr. and work up for these 165gr. GS bullets.
