good 12 gauge defense load my benelli m1

I have finalley bought my benelli and I like to gun very much. I have allready used it at the range with an trap load and it's an great gun. Now I am looking for an decent defense load for my new shotgun. I have allready done some investigations and here in austria I can get everythin from winchester, remington and federal. The loads of some european companies (selier&bellot, nobel sports, fioochi) are also available. The noble sports 12 gauge 00 buckshot shells would be the cheapest. My second choice would be the sellier&bellot 12 gauge buckshot load with 12 pellets. ( http://www.midwayusa.com/viewProduct/?p ... ber=979634). Has somebody experience with that load or with the buckshot loads from nobel sports? Or would you recomend somethin else?

I would be pleased hearing some tipps

I like Remington, Federal, and Winchester 2.75 inch 12 pellet 00 buck. Winchester actually stopped making the round unfortunately, but I bought up a huge stock before they were all off the shelves.

There's folks that like spread in buck loads and folks that like concentration,agent00. I favor concentration myself.

And the 8 or 9 pellet loads in actual use are as effective as the harder kicking stuff.

My pet load these days is an old 8 pellet Reduced Recoil 00 from Estate. The new stuff doesn't do quite so well.

Nobel and S&B are both good loads if you like spread.

One 870 here "Likes" Winchester's Classic 00. Another does not. It gets the Estate stuff.

The new Hornaday stuff has been well received. If you can get some try it out

In your shoes, I'd try and pattern some 5 packs at the max distance possible in your house and see what comes in below 15 inches. After that, pick one and buy lots of it.
