Good 9mm for IDPA and CCW?

When I said I didn't mention the SP01 I was referencing the fact that I was trying to solicit opinions about certain guns but THR seems to be full of people that always pipe in with different weapons, (get a glock get a glock) or they inject thier favorite gun and you can't get an opinion about what you actually asked about. The SP01 doesn't fit what I want, I DON"T want a stinkin Glock and I'm tired of everyone telling me I HAVE to get one. I just wanted some opinions about the CZ75 PCR and the FNP-9M. (I also mentioned the 1911 Armscor but I was mistaken and I'll take that one off the table) I don't need to know what everyones opinion is of a Glock by the way because I've handled and shot Glocks and I have my own opinion of them.

PS. There IS a Glock forum call "GlockTalk" I think a lot of people would be happier there. It would make this forum a lot more friendly to talking about other guns.

I understand the TITLE of this thread implies that I wanted suggestions on a good 9mm for CCW/IDPA but the actual question was about a few specific guns.

Sorry Jon.We got carried away.A family member just puchased the CZ85B and it fits her better than anything else.I've got stubby fingers so the Ruger works for me.That said, there are a lot of CZ75 IDPA shooters here in Nanny State Wisconsin.I've shot a few thru a couple of 75s and like them. The CZ75owners all like them and vouch for it.In observing the CZs use I can say I haven"t see one balk and the shots landed where they were aimed. My family member is doing this  after she shot her 85B.Not this:cuss: Exit stage left for the Sour Kraut.Doh!:banghead:

CZs

Jon,

I had been shooting my carry gun a CZ75 P01 for the last two years in IDPA, 3-gun, and some USPSA matches. Recently I acquired a CZ75B in the satin finish, and its what I use now in IDPA matches, 3-gun matches, etc.

I've been carrying the CZ75B, yes its heavier than the P01, but I like it. Plus, when she starts getting to heavy, I'll just go back to carrying the P01.

I don't use or carry my CZ75B in the single action, "cocked and locked" mode. So the manual of arms is the same for both pistols, the only difference being that the CZ75B doesn't have the decocker.

In my opinion I don't feel you can go wrong with your choice. I love the look of the PCR and if I saw one locally, I don't think I would be able to resist. Good luck.

regards,

Luis Leon

Thank You guys. I really thought my tirade would be met with hostility but you truly did take the high road. I handled a SP01 at a gunshop so I have some reference about the grip of the PCR/P01. It felt really good but there were a few sharp edges on the sights and decocker. I've heard so many good things about the CZ's I'm really getting tempted. On the other hand, they had that danged FNP-9M. That is really a cool gun. It's light and has a narrow slide. Decisions, decisions.
