Went to a small gun show in Merril, MI today. The place had about thirty-five tables set up. 1/3 of it non gun stuff.

Looked like the other tables had brought out all the stuff from the basement, old bolt actions, dusty shotguns from less well known companies, spray painted SKS. Not the cream of the crop, but something to look through instead of going to my usual Sunday morning service. (By the way, I'm a Posturpedic on Sunday mornings...........;) )

Happened upon a gun I've been eyeing, A Beretta 86FS matte black with wood grips, looks like it had hardly been shot. It had the case and the 2 mags but no manual.

But dang, I really wanted a Nickle one.:(

Then the guy came down to $275 OTD
with little effort so my wish of having a nickel Cheetah took a serious hit.

My friend, (He of Little Cash) a poor college student that I hunt with and have horribly infected with a love of shooting, picked up an obscure antique baby browning type .25 (no need for a purchase permit or NICS check sealed the deal) and out the door we were in about a half an hour!

On to the range! But first a quick Pitstop at walmart, he paid $15 for one box of .25! He was not a happy camper.:cuss:

The Beretta shot about 1 1/2 inches to the left in one raggged hole from 7 yards. Didn't hiccup even with the cheap Amscor ammo. The .25 Mondial (Spanish) didn't fair as well but was a blast to shoot-is it ever tiny! (I suggested that it should be checked by a gunsmith but there was no way to keep this kid from shooting it TODAY. At least he wore my leather gloves and safety glasses for the first mag.)

Overall, a good day for a small town gunshow.:)

I do really love to go to gun shows. Right now I'm trying to save for the March Indy show. Need alot of ammo and a 1911 and a upper for a AR project.Anticipation can drive you nuts! ..Mark
