I loaded up my stuff and went to the range today. I shot my Beretta, my SKS and my Enfield (for the first time). The Beretta grouped good. I shot the two rifles at 30 yard targets. The SKS I'm used to: a little low and to the left. The Enfield surprised me. It shot about a 2" group both times with the old iron sights!

Some guys set up before I left. They had a lot of stuff. One of them was loading up a Benelli. I commented on how nice it looked. He said it was an M3 he had just bought for $1100 and asked if I wanted to shoot it!:what: In the words of Stone Cold Steve Austin, "Oh, hell yeah!!" He let me load it up and empty it twice. Sweet.

I stopped by the gun shop on the way home to see what kind of rifles they have. An Enfield sporter and old Mauser caught my eye. I looked at a Beretta Neos and a SW99. On my way out I heard a guy say "Glocks are the most dangerous gun on the market!" I looked at the owner and he rolled his eyes at the guy.

Anyway, I had a good time and hope you guys had a good day too!

Just another day of mist and rain.

But I managed to get 500 of .223 loaded, and some cast pistol rounds sorted, just barely cleaning the bench off as I'm "between jobs".

On reflection, though, I did join you prior to signing on: 30 through the MAC, AKA AK-47 (You didn't think I'd add to the reloading task, did you?), and all fun fire: beer cans at 25 yards, 2.5" logs ends at 17, all from the hip.

Let's hear it for back yard ranges.

Of course, had I failed to, at a minimum, open the sliding cellar door, I might have had to put this on the indoor range thread.

Anyway, the best to all: go forth, fire, and enjoy.
