I recently won an auction on gunbroker for a CZ 550 varmint chambered in 22-250 with the laminate stock. After shipping and transfer it will be mine for just under $700 and it is in mint condition. Did I get a decent deal? This is my first CZ rifle, everything I've read seems like people are pleased with theirs. Haven't had a chance to shoot it yet. Still have to get glass on it. Hope it shoots as good as it looks.

That sounds about like $50-100 under current new market price.

CZ's are nice guns. Just be careful of "CZitis", ecspecially if you like rimfires. Those CZ rimfires multiply like rabbits in the safe...:what:

I'd been watching that gun on GB for a while too. I expect you'll like it a lot. As viking499 said, be careful because you'll probably be wanting more after you start shooting the first one. My path was 452, then 527, then 550, and I'd love to have more. The 452 and 527 are more addictive than the 550 for some reason, probably because my 550 is a .308 which doesn't beg to be shot more and more like the others (.22LR and .223, respectively). I'm expecting a 550 in 22-250 will prove a sweet gun!

Ya there is a 455 that has almost came home with me more than once at the LGS. I'm thinking this one will convince me to go ahead and give it a good home if it sticks around much longer.

Save yourself the agony and just go ahead and bring it home...

What caliber is it?

Yeah, The CZ is addictive...... I have a CZ550FS in 9.3x62 and it is one of my favorites. I shot a doe with it last week. One shot and not a step..... AWESOME! You will love that rifle......... now I want one in 6.5x55.

Never shot the 9.3x62, but it keeps getting my attention.....

My next one will probably be a 223 varmint. Also debating between a scout and a 455.

I have a 6.5x55 and LOVE IT! I also have a Tikka 6.5x55. It gets more time than the CZ because t is a little easier to carry. That and the CZ has wood that is way to nice for me to dang and dent up.

22 lr. I really need it too. All of my 22 rifles are semi-auto. It's not a matter of if rather than when. Lol

Yep, CZitis in action.

With the 455, you can also experiment with the HMR and 22mag cheaply by just switching barrels.

Yeah, that's a good deal. And CZ's are catching.

452 - 22 lr
550 - 243
550 - 308
75BD - 9mm

I think I still have room for a 527 in 233 and probably another 22...

Can't go wrong, bedded both mine.

CZ550 in 6.5X55mm shoots 0.6MOA
CZ550 in 30-06 shoots 0.7MOA

An I do not count myself a good shot, I think they are capable of better in the right hands but for hunting the are perfect.

Gunner69, the 6.5mm is simply awesome with both 130gr. Accubonds and slightly better with 140gr, Gamekings.

Got my eyes on an old Model 1.

The quality of the barreled action of these rifles is exceptional, IME. The fit of the wood to the metal is also very good. The wood is very nice, if not ornate in some instances, and at least on mine, the checkering appears to be hand cut (due to the presence of over-runs).

I'm thinking one of the 7.62x39 carbines might be a whole lot of fun.
