Here's whats for sale:

"I have two custom Rugers (10/22) I'd like to sell. Both have Butler Creek
Carbon/Stainless ultralight target barrels, excellent trigger jobs (light
and smooth), and both have 2-7X40mmAO target scopes mounted on Weaver rails.
One is mounted in a Hogue "Overmoulded" stock, the other is in a Butler
Creek sythetic target stock with integral bi-pod. Original stocks and
barrels are available. Each will come with one 10 round magazine, extras
(including 25/30rds) available. $300.00 each or $500 for both, Firm. Extra
parts/magazines are negotiable. *Note: This offer is to city empoyees,
fire-fighters, or metro ONLY. If no one is interested, in two weeks you'll
find them on consignment at Master Shooter's Supply."

Should I take him up on this. Sounds like he put a lot of work in them.

The components of each are add up to the asking price. Getting both for $500 is a lot better than paying $300 for one. Although those BC barrels each cost more than $100 brand new, they're not really any better or more accurate than the factory sporter barrel. Butler Creek, for the most part, is at the bottom of the 10/22 component list.

Overall, not a bad price, but you can find deals like that all the time on Gunbroker.

IMO, the BC barrels aren't worth it.

I had built up a 10/22 for my niece (9 yo, IIRC) and bought the BC Featherweight/stock combo. She had shot before and found that the weight of even a stock 10/22 was a bit hevy for her and so the light weight build up.

I had done a little research on the BC barrel before buying and, although generally negative, bought it anyway as I figured she wouldn't mind or even notice the lack of accuracy being new to shooting. The best I cn get out of it is no better than 1.25" at 50 yds with match grade (Eley, old Fed Ultra Match) ammo. Even freefloated the barrel channel as well as the other de rigueur mods for the 10/22.

Having built a few 10/22s using better components previously, I can say the BC Featherweight is not worth the money if you're looking for an accurate rifle. If your looking for light weight, it would be OK. If your looking for light weight and accuracy, there are other crbon fiber brrel mkers out there for the 10/22.

I have a Butler Creek carbon fiber barrel on my 10/22 and I'm not happy with the accuracy either, but it's nice and light. Who is recommended out of CF barrel makers?

The Hogue stock is nice and comfy, but not really stiff enough for a bull barrel. What happens is if you vary where you put your hand on the stock, the stock flexes differently, which changes the amount of upward pressure on the barrel, which changes the point of impact. Not that this should stop you from buying, just be aware of it.

The Hogue OM stock flexes like it's made out of rubber. Oh wait. It is.

The BC carbon fiber barrels bend and move at the slightest pressure. Not exactly helpful to accuracy. They reportedly group on par with the factory installed pencil barrel.
